一首沒有歌詞的曲子，為什麼能讓人哭到女兒都傻眼？
這集《藍調時光》聊坂本龍一的〈Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence〉。旋律來自1983年大島渚的電影《俘虜》，坂本龍一不只作曲，還親自飾演日軍上尉世野井，與大衛鮑伊、北野武同台。
我們從遙遠陰鬱的電影原聲版，聽到1996年的鋼琴三重奏版，跟著鋼琴、弦樂與大提琴一段一段走回電影裡：從法庭上第一次的眼神交會，到暴雪中再也藏不住的感情。
片名叫《俘虜》，但真正被俘虜的，也許是世野井。他被身分、軍令與說不出口的情感困住，「情不知所起，一往而深」。當每個人身上都疊著好多角色，對與錯，從來只是角度的位移。
戰後的聖誕節，一句「Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence.」放下了所有立場與傷害。在身不由己的世界裡，我們唯一能留下的，也許就是對對方的祝福。
