Today on LOTW, Becky and Bevy dig into the strange disappearance of Howard Eubank

Howard Eubank had lived a chaotic life — years of alcoholism, fractured relationships, and children with different women. But then he made a decision that surprised everyone: he got sober. And slowly, the pieces of his life began to shift. His relationship with his kids was improving, he was showing up again, and for the first time in a long time, Howard seemed to be building something steady.

So when he suddenly “left,” nothing about it made sense. He missed moments he never would’ve skipped — including his own son’s wedding — and the explanations around his absence didn’t match the man he was becoming. This episode traces the strange silence that followed Howard’s disappearance.

This week on LOTW, Becky and Bevy discuss a case where six people end up convicted and tied to the disappearance of a 19‑year‑old Anchorage girl.Cynthia Hoffman was a 19‑year‑old from Anchorage, Alaska. She grew up surrounded by the people she loved most, and because of her developmental delays, her family and close friends were her entire world. Cynthia trusted easily — maybe too easily — and that trust shaped the final day anyone saw her. After she disappeared, her father received a strange text from her phone, a message that immediately raised suspicion and marked the moment everything changed.

This week on LOTW, we’re covering the case of the Richardson family.

In Medicine Hat, a twelve‑year‑old girl’s personality shifted almost overnight—puberty, rebellion, and then a new boyfriend who was more than just “older.” Jeremy Steinke was twenty‑three, steeped in dark online personas, and eager to play the part she wanted him to be. Together, they built a fantasy world where rules didn’t matter and identities were costumes they could slip into.

But Jasmine wasn’t just following along. She was steering. And when her parents pushed back against the relationship, she didn’t retreat—she escalated. Online messages grew stranger, bolder, and more detached from reality, pulling Jeremy deeper into a story he wasn’t equipped to understand, let alone resist.
