  • DOJ's Alaska Suit Escalates, Obama Returns, Nicki Minaj Press Secretary
    31 Oct 2026
With Election Day days away, the Alaska Senate fight over two Dan Sullivans just got messier, Trump's rally plans did a U-turn, and right-wing candidates just lost at the ballot box abroad. This week on Look Forward, we break down the stories you need to know.

Our big topic is Alaska. The DOJ, acting at Trump's direction, amended its lawsuit seeking to block certification of the Senate race if Sen. Dan Sullivan loses, after a New York Times report that people tied to Mary Peltola's campaign and DSCC officials helped recruit the second Dan Sullivan. Peltola's campaign and the DSCC deny any involvement, Alaska's governor has ordered an investigation, and a federal judge could rule as soon as Saturday.

Barack Obama is back on the campaign trail for Democrats in the final stretch. Trump canceled a Kansas rally after a CNN poll showed Sen. Roger Marshall trailing, then put it back on the schedule a day later.

Abroad, Lula won a record fourth term in Brazil, and Serbia's Aleksandar Vucic conceded defeat to a student-led movement after two years of protests.

Ohio venues are canceling events with Vivek Ramaswamy after his ad featuring Amy Acton's estranged mother, and White House staffers floated Nicki Minaj as the next press secretary. Hasan Piker sued CNN's Scott Jennings for $72.5 million over a clip he says was manipulated, and a Texas county Republican Party is suing to hand count every ballot in the state.

In Fast Corruption, the New York Times reports that U.S. officials suspected a woman close to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was a Chinese intelligence asset, and that Trump was briefed and took no action. Nvidia disputes the framing. And in What's Dumber, Trump joked at a rally that he'd pick Ted Cruz for the Supreme Court.

  • Trump Ends Russia Sanctions, Ramaswamy's Ad Backlash, El-Sayed's Viral Moment
    23 Oct 2026
Trump waives sanctions on Russia and says he's open to a three-way summit with Xi and Putin, Vivek Ramaswamy doubles down on a disgusting ad against Amy Acton, and a viral town hall clip puts a former Josh Hawley aide in the spotlight when he tries to bait Abdul El-Sayed. This week on Look Forward, we break down the stories you need to know.

Our big topic is Trump's Russia policy. A week after a diesel sanctions waiver, Trump issued an executive order waiving key tariffs and sanctions under the new Graham Russia sanctions law. Trump also said he's open to a meeting with Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin to discuss denuclearization, though nothing has been agreed to, and the meeting is far more likely to be a smokescreen for Ukraine and Taiwan conversations.

In News You Need, Ramaswamy's campaign is putting $4 million behind an ad featuring Amy Acton's estranged mother despite bipartisan backlash. Protests over schools and the cost of living are spreading across France and Albania. Abdul El-Sayed's town hall exchange with a questioner identified as a former Hawley aide has drawn tens of millions of views. ProPublica reports judges have rejected every one of the 26 decided DOJ lawsuits demanding state voter rolls, and a Democratic House Majority PAC memo tells donors more seats are in play.

In Fast Corruption, Katie Zacharia is out as press secretary after five days. Trump launches a $25 million fraud whistleblower program and hands the first check to dunce influencer Nick Shirley. ProPublica reports on an FBI inquiry into alleged pay-for-play ties between the contractor Navatek and members of Congress from both parties, which they deny. And Matt Gaetz faces a new federal lawsuit on sex trafficking, with allegations he denies.

In What's Dumber, Trump says he asked Google to rename the Atlantic "Trump Ocean."

  • DOJ Goes After Ilhan Omar, Katie Zacharia Awful Start, Kimberly Guilfoyle Resigns
    16 Oct 2026
The Justice Department is investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar's immigration history weeks before Election Day, the White House's new press secretary, Katie Zacharia admits she never passed the bar, and a Republican ad buyer sent Susan Collins' campaign money to the wrong Portland. This week on Look Forward, we break down the stories you need to know.

Our big topic is the federal probe of Rep. Ilhan Omar. Agents searched her Washington home Monday and seized her phone, and the DOJ issued about a dozen grand jury subpoenas, mostly to relatives, in an investigation reportedly focused on whether her age was misstated on paperwork when she became a citizen in 2000. Omar has not been charged. We also look at Trump's Supreme Court petition to revive his failed RICO suit against Hillary Clinton and to rein in judges who sanction his lawyers.

In our "News You Need" section, press secretary Katie Zacharia confirmed she never passed the bar exam after calling herself a lawyer, repeatedly. Ukraine says new Starlink speed limits disrupted its military drone operations, while Elon Musk says the restrictions are up to the U.S. government. Trump says the Pentagon will no longer livestream Nidal Hasan's Dec. 3 capital punishment, a plan Pete Hegseth announced a week earlier.

In "Fast Corruption and Faster Screwups", Kimberly Guilfoyle resigned as ambassador to Greece after a Wall Street Journal report that she asked a donor to pay her $100,000 credit card bill, which she denies. Michigan Senate nominee Mike Rogers' wife also handed out $10 gas cards at a Detroit gas station, and critics are calling it a bribe.

In "What's Dumber a Brick or a Republican," a pro-Collins super PAC mistakenly spent about $25,000 on ads in Portland, Oregon instead of Portland, Maine, and Kansas governor nominee Ty Masterson accused his opponent of witchcraft over a TikTok video.
