  • Ep. 49 Enjoy the Journey, Not Just Chasing the Destination
    30 Oct 2026

We're always chasing something. The next goal, the next milestone, the next version of ourselves. But what happens when we're so focused on what's next that we forget to appreciate what we already have?

In Episode 49 of Life According to Rick, we're talking about ambition, social media comparisons, personal growth, and learning to enjoy the journey while still working toward something bigger.

I get personal about my Jordan collection, the things I wanted growing up, the fear that sometimes held me back, and how starting this podcast has helped me become more open and transparent. I also reflect on why giving yourself grace doesn't mean making excuses, and why being proud of your progress doesn't mean you've stopped growing.

You can want more out of life without convincing yourself that what you have today isn't enough.

As we get closer to 50 episodes of LATR, this conversation hits a little differently. We're still growing, still learning, and still figuring things out. The important thing is not to get so caught up chasing the next milestone that we forget to appreciate the journey we're already on.

So the question is: Are you enjoying the journey, or are you just chasing the destination?

As always, thank you for spending some of your time with your boy. ❤️🎙️

  • Ep. 48 Protecting Them vs. Preparing Them
    23 Oct 2026

Episode 48: Protecting Them vs. Preparing Them

As parents, we want to give our children the world. But what happens when protecting them from disappointment keeps them from learning the lessons they need for life?

This week on Life According to Rick, we're talking about the difference between giving our kids what they want and teaching them what they need. From Harlem learning that everything can't happen right now, to a full-circle moment involving Lil Ricky, New Balance sneakers, and a lesson Rick didn't fully understand until he became a father himself.

We're also getting real about money, social media, keeping up with the Joneses, and preparing our children for responsibilities they won't always be ready to hear about.

Because parenting isn't about making sure our kids never struggle. It's about giving them the tools to navigate life when we're not there to do it for them.

There's a difference between letting our children experience disappointment and making them feel like they're a disappointment.

    Let's talk about it.

🎙️ This is Life According to Rick — real life, real parenting, and real conversations.

  • Ep. 47 Are We Living Or Just Existing?
    16 Oct 2026

Episode 47: Are We Living or Just Existing?

    What's poppin, everybody! 👋🏽

Have you ever felt like you're just going through the motions? Wake up, go to work, handle your responsibilities, take care of everybody else, go to sleep, and repeat. Before you know it, another week, another month, and another year have passed.

In this episode of Life According to Rick, we're talking about how easy it is to get caught up in the routine of life that we forget to actually ENJOY it. Between work, family, responsibilities, and trying to build a better future, we can end up putting ourselves on the back burner and telling ourselves we'll get to the things we want to do eventually.

But what happens when eventually turns into years?

From Groundhog Day to Click, we're breaking down the routines we fall into, the guilt that comes with doing something for ourselves, and why making time for our own happiness doesn't mean we're neglecting the people we love.

Because being responsible is one thing. Becoming so consumed by your responsibilities that you forget to live? That's something else entirely.

So here's the question: If your life stayed exactly the same for the next five years, would you be happy with that?

    Let's talk about it.

🎙️ Tune in, share your thoughts, and remember: we're working hard to build a life, so let's make sure we're actually enjoying it.
