CHURCH HURT IS REAL… BUT YOU CAN’T STAY THERE! 💔➡️🙏🏽 | Let’s Be Holy for Real

Have you ever been hurt by someone in the church? Betrayed by someone you trusted? Disappointed by a church leader? Or wounded in the very place where you expected to experience God's love?

Church hurt is real. But what happens AFTER the hurt?

In this powerful and transparent episode of Let’s Be Holy for Real, Stephanie and Erica Juel tackle a difficult but necessary conversation about church hurt, offense, forgiveness, leadership, and what it takes to move forward without allowing bitterness to take root in our hearts.

We acknowledge the pain. We make room for the tears. We talk about the difficult questions: What do you do when the hurt comes from a pastor or church leader? When should you address the situation, and when should you pray and allow God to lead? Does every painful church experience mean it's time to leave? And how do you continue to trust God when the people who hurt you claim to represent Him?

Through personal experiences, honest reflection, and biblical examples like Joseph, we explore how to process hurt without becoming bound by it. We discuss the importance of seeking God before reacting emotionally, walking in forgiveness without pretending the pain never happened, and recognizing that our relationship with Christ must remain greater than our disappointment in people.

Let's be clear: Moving forward does not mean excusing wrongdoing, minimizing your pain, or pretending everything is okay. It means refusing to let what happened to you have the final say over who you become.

Sometimes, the next step is a conversation. Sometimes, it's an apology. Sometimes, it's prayer, accountability, healthy boundaries, or recognizing that it may be time to walk away. Discernment matters, and every situation deserves wisdom.

Because church hurt may be part of your story, but it does not have to become your identity.

📖 Scriptures to reflect on: Romans 8:28, Romans 12:2, Hebrews 4:15, Matthew 6:33, and Hebrews 12:15.

Let's be holy for real. For real. And not for show.

Are you really waiting on God... or are you just scared to move? 👀

How many times have you said, "I'm praying about it," when the truth is, you're afraid to take the next step? Is God telling you to wait, or are you waiting until you feel comfortable, confident, and certain about what comes next?

In this episode of Let's Be Holy For Real, Pastor Stephanie and Dr. Erica Jewel get REAL about the difference between walking by faith and allowing fear, procrastination, or uncertainty to keep us from moving forward.

💭 Are you waiting on God, or using prayer as an excuse to avoid making a decision?

💭 Does following God always come with peace and comfort, or can obedience feel uncomfortable?

💭 What happens when God calls you to move without showing you the entire plan?

💭 Are you mistaking fear for discernment or discomfort for a lack of peace?

💭 What if you're waiting for certainty when God is asking you to exercise faith?

The Bible reminds us that God has not given us the spirit of fear (II Timothy 1:7) and that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Abraham obeyed God even when he didn't know where he was going (Hebrews 11:8).

We're talking about what it means to trust God enough to move, even when you don't have all the answers.

If you've been praying, waiting, second-guessing, or putting off something you believe God is calling you to do, this conversation is for you!

We say it all the time "God is first."

We say, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God."

We say, 'First, give honor to God."

But here's the real question: Does the way we live actually prove it.?

In this episode of Let's Be Holy For Real, Stephanie and Erica Jewel get real about what it actually means to put God first, not just what we say, but in our schedules, relationships, decisions, ambitions, downtime, ministry, and even how we care for our bodies.

Because sometimes we're so busy doing things for God that we forget to actually spend time with God. This conversation challenges us to stop and consider our ways. Is God truly getting our first and our best, or are we giving Him whatever time is left over?

What We Talk About:

• What does it really mean to put God first?
• Why the first thing we reach for in the morning can reveal our priorities.
• Making intentional time for God, instead of giving Him whatever time is left.
• Developing a "praying spirit" throughout the day.
• What caring for our bodies and treating our bodies as God's temple has to do with putting Him first.
• Why sometimes we need to stop, shut everything down, and simply spend time with God.
