    • The Epstein Files Prove Nice Girls Lose Under Fascism
      Feb 9 2026

Even with the full list of names in the Epstein files released, we’ve seen no attempt to prosecute, interrogate, or investigate any potential culprits. We need to have a feminist/womanist critique of international law, international media, and the way they’re used to destroy the idea that any girl or woman can be a victim worthy of protection.

I also share how much this trip affected my self-esteem and mental health during a rough time in my career as a journalist. Thanks to Maggie Hollinbeck (M.A., LMFT), a psychotherapist who offers her expert opinion on how travel can be used as therapy.

    • The Year Rihanna Twerked on Water
      Jan 28 2026

Rihanna released the most-streamed album by a female artist in 2016. Rihanna tied Michael Jackson’s record for the most Top 5 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 with said album in 2016. That same album became the first album by a Black woman to spend 500 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, only to be beaten nine years later. Most importantly, it became one of the blueprints for multi‐dimensional portrayals of Black women in global music.
