Episode 10 - Footballs forgotten competitions
    7 Jul 2026

Before the Premier League, the Champions League and packed fixture calendars, football was full of wonderfully strange cup competitions. In this episode, we uncover the stories behind some of the game's most fascinating forgotten tournaments, including the Anglo-Italian Cup, the Texaco Cup, the Simod Cup, the Zenith Data Systems Cup and more.

Along the way, we'll discover why Swindon Town became heroes in Naples, how an oil company helped create cross-border football, why Wang Computers and the Zenith Data Systems Cup were a perfect match for the late 1980s, and how football has always found an excuse to invent another trophy.

It's a nostalgic journey through some of the game's quirkiest chapters, packed with forgotten stories, unlikely heroes and the wonderfully eccentric competitions that deserve to be remembered.
