• Maduro in Brooklyn: Can America Seize a President and Still Claim the Law?
    15 Oct 2026

In this October 15 edition of International Flavor, Samuel Trapp examines the American prosecution of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores from five angles that must not be collapsed into one: federal subject-matter jurisdiction, the extraterritorial reach of the charged statutes, physical presence following a forcible transfer, foreign-official immunity, and the international legality of the military operation itself. The program considers the Fifth Superseding Indictment in the Southern District of New York, the Ker–Frisbie rule and United States v. Álvarez-Machaín, head-of-state immunity, presidential recognition, UN Charter Article 2(4), Venezuela's disputed political transition, sanctions relief and the Trump administration's openly stated oil and Monroe Doctrine policy. The central question is not merely whether the United States can put Maduro on trial. It is whether the rules applied to him will also restrain the powerful state applying them.

  • Ukraine's Patriot Crisis | Europe & Washington Under Scrutiny
    21 Oct 2026

Can a Patriot battery protect a city when it lacks interceptors? On International Flavor, Samuel Trapp examines Ukraine's reported missile shortages, NATO's production bottlenecks, proposed transfers from Greece and Spain, and the debate over Ukraine's future funding needs. He then turns to European cost-of-living protests, access to Russian-language news and commentary, and the short White House tenure of Katie Zacharia. Drawing on his own legal and international experience, Trapp asks what a law degree establishes, what bar admission permits, and how governments should vet senior appointees.

These are the host's analyses and interpretations; disputed battlefield numbers, funding estimates and biographical assertions require independent confirmation.

  • Europe’s Crisis, Russia’s Endurance & Three Paths to War’s End
    27 Oct 2026

In this October 26 edition of International Flavor, Samuel Trapp explores the political and economic pressures reshaping Europe and their possible effects on the war in Ukraine. The program examines protest movements, energy costs, government budgets and the trade-offs between domestic services and foreign commitments. Trapp discusses the George Galloway–Tucker Carlson MOATS interview and then develops three possible outcomes for the war: mounting internal pressure on Russia, escalation into direct Russia–NATO conflict, or a shift in Western willingness to sustain military assistance. He considers how satellite intelligence, weapons guidance and operational control complicate the distinction between supplying weapons and participating in hostilities. The discussion turns to sovereignty, sanctions and Russia’s economic adaptation after Western companies withdrew, before closing with Smedley Butler’s War Is a Racket. Brief opening topics include Brazil, Serbia and Trapp’s winter reporting plans in St. Petersburg and Murmansk. Listen at internationalflavor.com/english-podcast.

  • War Without an End State
    19 Oct 2026

A headline is not an evidence chain.

In this October 19 edition of International Flavor, Samuel Trapp opens with the reported long-range drone operation against St. Petersburg. Oil facilities, a logistics center and digital infrastructure were reported hit, but the precise drone totals, routes and full damage remain disputed. The episode tests four possibilities: a route largely over Russian territory, transit through Baltic or NATO airspace, launch activity closer to the target, or a mixed operation. Lithuania confirms an October 18 response to an unidentified aerial target, but that record does not prove an organized NATO-airspace corridor.

The same discipline is applied to the battlefield. Russian officials say Dobropillia was taken; President Zelensky says it remains under Ukrainian control. Samuel considers what map changes, flag videos, geolocation and sustained presence can—and cannot—establish.

The program then presents and analyzes Alice Weidel’s October 14 Bundestag speech criticizing Chancellor Friedrich Merz over Ukraine assistance, sanctions, energy policy, migration and economic decline. The speech itself is confirmed by the Bundestag record. Its statistics are presented as Weidel’s political claims, not as independently settled facts.

The final section asks whether Afghanistan, Ukraine, Iran and the 1991 Gulf War reveal a recurring problem: military commitments that continue without a concrete, falsifiable definition of success. Samuel’s test is direct. What is the objective? Can force achieve it? What is the end state? Who governs afterward? What costs remain? What evidence would prove the strategy has failed?

Then we travel to Warsaw, where NATO commander General Alexus Grynkewich presents his “Theory of Victory” while security-policy advocates propose an increasingly confrontational approach toward Russia. Samuel Trapp examines the competing claims, political incentives, and unanswered questions behind these developments, with a little help from Monty Python's lessons in logic. Plus, a bizarre cyberattack on French supermarket refrigeration systems and the continuing debate over Russian energy sanctions.
