  • Episode 4: Scaffolding (Leland Jackman)
    May 26 2026

Leland Jackman of Onex River Inc. joins Roberta and Glenn to talk scaffolding. Ledgers, standards, rosettes, braces, decks, 45s, toe boards, right angles, dog bones, swivels, spigots, and more. Tube and clamp, cuplock system, cantilever, HAKI and more. Dude knows his scaffolding. In terms of infrastructure, scaffolding is evanescent. Unlike the buildings and structures it gives shape to, it fades from view and disappears from memory relatively quickly. But it remains vital to building process. Over the course of an informative and entertaining 30-minute conversation, Leland makes the case for scaffolding. He explains its intricacy. He shares stories, including a memorable job in the muskeg of northern Alberta. He puts the pieces together. Scaffolding, Leland explains, exists to allow the other trades to do their work. It becomes clear, though, that scaffolding itself deserves a little more time in the light. 🎧 Infrasound uncovers the human side of infrastructure — the decisions, experiences, and people shaping the built world around us.🎵 Music: “Step Forward” by Mike Kirin — featured with permission.🌐 Find reVerb online: reverbcomms.ca
