Brian and Mandy return for a bonus, unnumbered Geekwatch Podcast episode after a break due to life and family issues, setting aside recent events like Comic-Con, D23, and new trailers to focus on an in memoriam discussion. They reflect on Dolly Parton’s cultural impact and philanthropy, including her book program, Dollywood, her influence on projects like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and stories about music royalties and community giving. They note the recent death of Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime and other roles, and discuss the upcoming Transformers movie re-release dubbed the “Apology Tour.” The main tribute centers on Tim Curry’s death, highlighting his wide-ranging career and the personal significance of Rocky Horror, as well as roles like Darkness in Legend, Clue, Home Alone 2, Gabriel Knight, and voice work such as Captain Hook and Nigel Thornberry.
