Patience isn’t always about sitting around and waiting for something to happen. Sometimes it’s continuing to show up when the results aren’t visible yet. Sometimes it’s another person seeing potential in you long before you’re ready to see it yourself. And sometimes it’s realizing you’ve been so focused on what’s coming next that you’ve forgotten to experience the season you’re already in.
In Episode 37 of The Beard Winner Podcast, I explore what patience has been teaching me through my health and fitness journey, personal growth, finances, relationships, and the unexpected lessons that come from simply giving life time to unfold.
I talk about wanting progress faster whether that’s weight loss, strength in the gym, financial goals, or becoming a better version of myselfand why consistency often matters more than the speed of the result. I also reflect on the people who have patiently seen something in me before I was prepared to act on it, including a story from the Philippines and the impact of having someone recognize your potential before you fully recognize it yourself.
There’s another side of patience, too: learning to live in the present. Sometimes a month, a year, or an entire season seems to disappear because we spend so much of it anticipating or dreading what comes next. When our attention is constantly somewhere in the future, there isn’t much room left to appreciate where we actually are.
After stepping away from social media for a month, I’ve found myself much less interested in going back. Removing some of that noise has helped me become more present in my own life, more intentional with the people around me, and less concerned with keeping track of everyone else’s timeline.
Seasons change when they’re supposed to. Some have predictable endings. Others don’t give us a date.
Maybe patience isn’t about waiting for the next season.
Maybe it’s learning not to miss this one.
