In this episode, we explore the power of validation in relationships — and why feeling understood can matter just as much as feeling loved. Validation is not about agreeing with everything your partner says. It is about letting them know their experience makes sense and that you are willing to understand what they are feeling beneath the surface.
You will hear practical examples of how to respond in ways that help your partner feel seen and heard, along with simple phrases you can try in your own relationship. We also talk about how validation can reduce defensiveness, deepen trust, and create the kind of emotional safety that helps couples move through conflict together rather than against each other.
Relationship Reset Challenge
Set aside 10 minutes this week for a “seen and heard” check-in with your partner. Take turns sharing one thing that felt heavy, one thing that felt connecting, and one thing you would like more of. The listener’s job is to reflect and validate before responding.
