My Son Keeps Talking About the Woman Who Lives in His Closet

After moving into an inexpensive rental, Daniel tries to give his six-year-old son, Miles, a steady routine. Then Miles begins insisting that a woman lives inside his bedroom closet. Daniel assumes the sounds are coming from the old house until he hears three soft knocks and a scrape from behind the closet wall—the same signal he has always used before entering Miles's room. A narrow gap behind the rear panel suggests a hidden service cavity, but when Daniel tries to protect Miles, the danger seems to understand exactly what makes his son feel safe.
