In this Daily Devotion for October 11, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 85:7-9, where peace begins not with a change in feeling but with listening, hearing what God Himself will speak. Real peace comes through His Word, spoken from outside us, not manufactured by looking inward or trying harder to feel calm.
This devotion points to Jesus, God's spoken Word wrapped in human flesh, who still speaks peace directly to you. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, a promise simply received rather than earned. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He speaks that peace to you personally, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins, again and again.
When you need peace, do not start by searching inside yourself. Listen instead. Let God speak to you clearly through His Word. That spoken word, given in Christ, is where real and lasting peace is always found, near to those who trust Him.
