In this Daily Devotion for October 12, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 85:10-12, a beautiful picture of steadfast love and faithfulness meeting, righteousness and peace kissing each other, truths that seem to pull in opposite directions finally embracing face to face, heaven and earth connecting completely.

This devotion shows where that meeting actually happens, at the cross. There, God’s justice and mercy met. Sin was fully punished, exactly as righteousness required, and mercy was fully given, exactly as love required, neither bending to the other. What seemed impossible to hold together is settled permanently in Christ for you personally. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, both justice and mercy fully satisfied. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord’s Supper that settled peace is given to you again, His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.

Rest in that settled peace today. God’s justice against your sin has been fully satisfied, and His mercy toward you remains just as full. Both are true for you, at the very same time, forever.
