  • #258 The Shadow Of The Steeple: When You Feel Bludgeoned By The Cross With Rhonda J Morrison
    30 Oct 2026

Brenda J. and Karen B. are honored to welcome Rhonda J. Morrison, author, musician, minister, and president of Starfishers Ministry, a nonprofit dedicated to helping those who fall through the cracks of traditional support systems.

Today, Rhonda shares her book, The Shadow of the Steeple: When You Feel Bludgeoned by the Cross—a story of God's grace, mercy, truth, and faith refined, rather than destroyed, by fire.

Married to a United Pentecostal Church licensed minister from 1987 to 1994, Rhonda recounts abuse and the use of Scripture to control and manipulate. Her divorce led to a convoluted lawsuit pitting her and her family against her former husband and the UPCI organization, to which they had been devoted for four generations. After a four-year legal battle, she won. However, little did she know that the war for her life was just beginning.

Through it all, Rhonda's relationship with God grew deeper. Her story offers hope to those carrying wounds from spiritual abuse: the broken can be restored, and joy can rise again from the ashes. A must-read book that readers haven't been able to put down from beginning to end. Link to purchase book below:
