  • The Crisis in DSA: What is to be done?
    12 Oct 2026

Lital and Edward sit down for a special episode to discuss the unfolding crisis in NYC-DSA, sparked first by his funding of Zionist groups to "fight anti-semitism," deepened by his showing up at a liberal Zionist vigil on October 7th, then capped off by sending NYPD to repress anti-ICE demonstrators after ICE shot a man in the Bronx earlier this week. We talk about the bureaucratic repression of YDSA by the NYC-DSA Steering Committee, the false effort to throw everything on Tisch and get Mamdani off the hook (promoted by Darializa and the DSA Right alike) and how to go forward.

    12 Oct 2026

Lital and Edward are joined by Stephen from International Socialist Alternative - Revolutionary (ISA-R) and Em from Labor Militant to discuss the launch of the United Front for a Clean Break in the DSA. JBA, ISA-R, and LM launched the United Front in September and we present both the recording from our first national Zoom call and some commentary on our points of unity in this episode as well as what's been going on lately in DSA between the Raman endorsement and Mamdani's move to give millions to Zionist groups to "combat anti-semitism."

  • Let’s talk DSA-LA: Why we’re not knocking doors for Zionist, pro-cop Nithya and you shouldn’t either!
    27 Sep 2026

Lital and Edward are joined by Julie from JBA-LA and Lindsay from International Socialist Alternative (Revolutionary) to talk about the battle in DSA-LA over endorsing Zionist cop-lover Nithya Raman for mayor. Despite a spirited effort by these comrades and even a split on the DSA Right (who'd have thought?), Raman was endorsed by the LA branch and is facing off against another "progressive" Dem, Karen Bass (supported by every DSAer on the city council) in November. We talk about the situation in LA today, what socialists should be doing instead of door-knocking for Dems, and much, much more!

  • Saving Debs from His Epigones
    15 Sep 2026

Lital and Edward are joined by Professor Jacob Zumoff to save Eugene Debs from his many self-professed disciples. We talk Debs' views on everything from industrial unionism to class independence to black liberation and anti-imperialism...and why Sanders, Mamdani, and AOC claiming him would have the father of American socialism rolling in his grave.

Jacob is a research associate at the Prometheus Research Library, which you can follow on X and email at library@prl.org if you'd like to visit! The PRL has an event coming up on September 24th featuring Jacob's book, The Red Thread, which you can register to attend here. • Labor Battle at C&H Sugar–Defend the Crockett 10!
    1 Sep 2026

Lital and Edward are joined by Emily Turnbull, retired longshore worker and former member of ILWU Local 10's executive board, and Max from JBA in East Bay DSA to discuss the battle at C&H Sugar and the fight to defend the Crockett 10, trade unionists and socialists facing potential prosecution after cops charged the picket line they were on in July. We discuss the united front rally outside the courthouse in defense of the Crockett 10, how the strike is connected to the battle to defend Cuba and get justice for the Negros 19 in the Philippines, what East Bay DSA has (and hasn't) done to drive struggle forward, and what's next for the ILWU and JBA in East Bay DSA.

  • Why is it so hard for DSA to endorse independent socialists?
    20 Aug 2026

Lital and Edward are joined by Dan from International Socialist Alternative (Revolutionary) for a postmortem on the Sawant campaign. Dan recently wrote a letter to Cosmonaut replying to Socialist Majority Caucus support David Duhalde on the question of DSA endorsing Sawant. DSA didn't endorse Sawant in a pretty brazen display of sectarianism, and all wings of DSA celebrated her not making it past the primary to face off against arch-Zionist Adam Smith. Despite that, Sawant got an impressive 17% of the vote (nearly 25,000 votes).

  • Black August: Why Fight for Black Freedom is Key to Fight for Socialism
    10 Aug 2026

Lital and Edward are joined by Jack and Brian from Chicago JBA to discuss why DSA must put the fight for black liberation front-and-center to advance working-class struggle today. We take up the age-old question "Why is DSA so white?" and make a pitch for a concrete plan to fight racist cop terror with the call to open police archives, as opposed to both colorblind economism and BLM liberalism.

You can find the website of the Open Police Archives campaign here. They are @opa_now on X and @openpolicearchives on Instagram. They also have a YouTube page. The Chicago OPA Committee will be meeting this Saturday, August 15 at the Woodson Regional Library (9525 S Halstead) at 3:30pm. If you're in Chicago or the Midwest and can't attend in-person, there's also a Zoom call you can join. Find more information on the cases the OPA campaign is taking up, endorse the campaign and for all updated event information, check the OPA website.

The Chicago branch of Just Break Already will be having it's first ever in-person get together on August 22nd. Register here if you'd like to attend!

You can find all of our petitions, resolutions, statements, and everything else we've been up to at the Just Break Already linktree. Follow us on X and Instagram! We also have a YouTube page where we upload these episodes, too. Leave us a comment, we ready all of 'em! • DSA: Which Side Are You On? Vote Working Class! Vote Sawant on August 4th!
    24 Jul 2026

Lital and Edward are joined by Summer and Em from Labor Militant and United front for a Workers Party to discuss Kshama Sawant's independent socialist campaign for Washington's 9th Congressional District. We do a deep dive into why every socialist should vote for Kshama, the dynamics within DSA and the broader left and why so many self-described socialists are sitting this race out (sectarianism!), where the working-class is at right now and why Kshama's dalliances with the Greens undermine her campaign.

Since we recorded this episode, Kshama has endorsed Andre Easton's campaign in the Bronx, a positive development!

You can find Labor Militant on X here and here on Instagram.

You can find United Front for a Workers Party here on X, here on Instagram, here on Facebook, and here on TikTok. To sign up for the August 1st phonebank for Kshama, the August 8th Socialist Town Hall in Seattle, or UFWP's August National Meeting, click here.

If you'd like to hear more about the clown car of characters running against Kshama, check out UFWP's latest articles here.

For background on the 2024 IAM strike at Boeing, check out these articles from Workers Vanguard.

Also worth reading: a letter by Movement for Kshama, an initiative of UFWP that responds to Kshama's sectarianism, republished in Workers Vanguard.
