Chris Elliott caught up with John Woodruff, the one-man force behind A Colossal Hand, to discuss his new single “Come Through, We’re Immanentizing the Eschaton,” released October 2, 2026.

John breaks down the DIY process behind a project where he writes, records, and performs every instrument, program, and vocal line entirely alone in his attic, what drives his self-described “suburban dad metal” and “apocalyptic mathgrind for old people” approach to extreme music, and how influences like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Pig Destroyer, The Chariot, and The Locust shape a sound that is entirely his own.
