After a scoreless first period, Braeden Bowman opened the scoring with a power-play goal with just nine seconds remaining in the second period. Shane Pinto tied the game for Ottawa early in the third, but Raphael Lavoie scored his first NHL goal eight minutes into the frame for the game-winner, assisted by Ville Heinola in his Golden Knights debut. William Karlsson and Jack Eichel added empty-net goals to secure the 4-1 victory. Adin Hill stopped 25 of 26 shots for a .962 save percentage and his fifth win of the season.
Lavoie recorded the game-winning goal, while Nic Dowd earned his 200th NHL point with an assist on the play. Bowman extended his point streak to two games, and Eichel scored his seventh goal of the season to reach 20 points, leading Vegas. Mitch Marner extended his point streak to eight games, totaling 11 points (1G, 10A). With the win, the Golden Knights improved to nine wins and 19 points, remaining atop the Pacific Division.
