  • E83:Are You Mistyped on the Enneagram? The Clues Most People Miss (and Why Motivation Matters)
    8 Oct 2026

In this Enneagram Adventure episode, IEQ9-certified coaches Holly and Tannah discuss why Enneagram mistypes happen and how to spot them by focusing on core motivation rather than behavior. They explain how stress, assessments taken at different life seasons, wings, and especially subtypes (social, self-preservation, one-to-one) can make people “look like” other types. Using their own examples, they cover common mistype pairings including Social 2 vs 3 (ambition and image vs appreciation needs), one-to-one 5 vs 4 (emotional detachment and boundaries vs emotional comfort and self-revelation), 1 vs 5, 1 vs 2 (people-pleasing/authority approval), 3 vs 8 (adaptability vs pushing through), 4 vs 7, 8 vs 9, counterphobic 6 vs 8, and 3 vs 6. They invite listeners with mistype questions to reach out and also request volunteer guests—especially Type 1s—for their upcoming guest series.

  • E82: Navigating Life with the Enneagram and Beatrice Chestnut
    1 Oct 2026

Enneagram’s Viral Moment: What Beatrice Chestnut Says Most People Get Wrong (and How to Actually Do the Work)

On the Enneagram Adventure podcast, hosts Holly and Tannah interview Enneagram author and teacher Beatrice Chestnut about using the Enneagram for real growth rather than stereotypes. Chestnut shares how she learned the Enneagram in 1990 through psychiatrist David Daniels and Helen Palmer’s early work, identified as a Type 2, and later became a psychotherapist and Enneagram educator. The conversation covers the upside and downside of the Enneagram’s popularity on social media, how it can become superficial or used as an excuse, and how deeper work involves facing discomfort, shadow patterns, and growth under stress. Chestnut explains “false self” vs “true self,” why your type doesn’t change, offers a primer on all nine types, and discusses the re-release of The Complete Enneagram alongside her upcoming book The Enneagram of Connection.

  • E81:Are You Thinking, Feeling, or Doing First?
    24 Sep 2026

On the Enneagram Adventure podcast, Holly and Tannah open with reflections on September weather in the Midwest and briefly mention 9/11’s clear skies before introducing a core Enneagram construct: center of expression and center of intelligence. They explain that the Enneagram focuses on core motivations (deeper than behavior-based tools like DiSC or Myers-Briggs) and note they are IEQ9-certified coaches whose assessment measures these centers. Holly outlines typical center-of-expression groupings—8/9/1 action, 2/3/4 feeling, 5/6/7 thinking—emphasizing that expression language (action, feeling, thinking) doesn’t indicate confidence, and that individuals can be atypical, which can lead to mistyping. They then discuss center-of-intelligence “stacks” (how people process decisions: head/heart/gut), share personal examples (Holly as a 5 and Tannah as a 2), describe how action-first types operate, explore suppression and overuse of centers, touch on body-driven nervous system cues, and end with community and guest invitations for an upcoming series covering all nine types.
