Echoes in the First Person is a narrative history podcast about forgotten lives, contested legacies, and the human stories behind history’s most powerful moments.

Each Monday, a cinematic first-person monologue enters the inner world of an anonymous historical figure. Their name remains hidden, but their memory, ambition, grief, conflict, and search for justice come fully into focus.

Each Thursday, the veil lifts. The identity is revealed, the historical context deepens, and the story’s connection to the present becomes clear.

Through poetic storytelling, immersive sound design, archival research, and emotionally driven performances, Echoes in the First Person explores overlooked historical figures, scientific discovery, political power, cultural memory, artistic struggle, and the forces that decide who gets remembered—and who gets erased.

This is history told from the inside: intimate, cinematic, and unafraid to question the official version.

When history speaks, we listen.

  • The Witness: Two Circles in the Dark | Part 1 — The Monologue
    2 Nov 2026

What does it mean to find someone who sees the same possibilities you do—and asks you to take the leap together?

In Two Circles in the Dark, an anonymous witness remembers a friendship formed in youth, when daily work could not contain the ideas taking shape beyond it. Conversations stolen between tasks become the beginnings of a shared ambition. Then an unexpected dismissal brings an invitation: stop working for someone else and build something together.

Part of The Witness, a historical storytelling series from Echoes in the First Person, this dramatic first-person monologue explores friendship, creative ambition, and the trust it takes to place your future alongside another person’s dreams.

Discover a story of possibility through the voice of someone who was there at the beginning. The identity remains concealed until Part 2 — The Thursday Thread, where the witness and the deeper historical context are revealed within the audio.

Begin here with Part 1 — The Monologue, then continue to Part 2 for the complete story.
