  • Who Holds the Strong Man Accountable?
    27 Oct 2026

Neal Oates Jr. and Marcus J. Scott (Clutch) start with a milestone: Marcus's YouTube channel has just passed 7,800 subscribers. Then they take on a harder question. Who has permission to tell a strong man the truth, and what does he do when it challenges his pride?

    In this episode

    Consistency pays off.

Marcus has posted for almost four years. He explains how the growth felt like it came out of nowhere, and how his audience is shifting toward younger viewers (about 18 to 24).

Correcting someone you look up to.

Neal says to start with the relationship and ask permission to speak into their life. Then frame the feedback as something they taught you to see.

    Correcting someone in authority.

Bosses, rank and "the person writing the check" make accountability harder. Neal asks whether he's correcting or being disrespectful.

    Responsibility versus reaction.

You're responsible for how and what you say, not for how the other person reacts. Neal asks himself what the worst possible outcome would be and whether he's okay with it.

When they say "I don't care."

Neal treats it as new information that lets him make an informed choice. Marcus adds that frustration comes from unrealistic expectations, and that "you always have a choice."

God as the audience of one.

Both hosts speak from a faith perspective. They cite Proverbs 12:15 and talk about seeking God first.

    Who holds you accountable?

Marcus names his inner circle, the people he mentors and his own kids.

    Agreement versus accountability.

Success can pull people toward yes-men. Neither host thinks you can keep growing without listening and learning.

    Listener challenge

    Ask one trusted person:

"What am I not seeing about how I lead or love?"

Then listen and evaluate. Don't argue with the answer.

  • Men Losing Themselves Trying to Prove It
    21 Jul 2026

In this episode, Neal and Marcus dive into the profound topic of how men often lose their true selves in the pursuit of validation and proving worth to others. With candid stories, biblical insights, and practical advice, they explore how purpose should guide our actions, not audience approval.

    Key topics:

    • The difference between purpose and performance, rooted in divine calling versus seeking applause.
    • How men tend to prove themselves to family, peers, and even themselves, often at a cost.
    • Personal stories of struggles with alcohol, rejection, and validation.
    • The importance of living for the audience of one—God—and aligning actions with purpose.
    • Recognizing signs of loss of self through comparison, overperformance, and impatience.
    • The significance of seasons in purpose and why timing matters.
    • How comparison and social pressure can derail men from their true calling.
    • Practical steps to focus on purpose, remember one's divine identity, and avoid the trap of proving.

Remember, men: the pursuit of purpose guided by divine truth is the highest proof of identity. Focus on what God has called you to, and everything else will fall into place.
