  • John 6:41-51 – Stop Grumbling and Start Receiving
    18 Oct 2026

In this message from John 6:41–51, Pastor Caleb walks through the crowd’s grumbling about Jesus calling Himself the bread of life who came down from heaven. Their complaints stem from knowing His earthly parents and refusing to accept what doesn’t fit their box for the Messiah. The sermon unpacks why grumbling hardens the heart and blinds the eyes, why no one comes to Christ unless the Father draws them (and the healthy tension of that with human responsibility), and why our preconceived notions never bring us to Jesus. True coming to Christ produces humility, thankfulness, and assurance that the One who began the work will finish it.

    Three main points:

    1. Grumbling hardens the heart and blinds the eyes.
    2. You cannot come to Christ unless the Father draws you.
    3. Your preconceived notions will never bring you to Jesus.

  • John 6:30-40 - Seeing Is Not Enough: Jesus, the Bread of Life
    11 Oct 2026

In this message from John 6:30–40, Pastor Caleb explores the difference between merely seeing Jesus and truly believing and following Him. Using a personal story about awkwardly “seeing” his future wife Braylee without really knowing her, he shows how the crowds in John 6 kept asking for signs even after the feeding of the five thousand—revealing that sight alone is not the same as faith.

    The three main points are:

    1. Sign seekers struggle to see Jesus clearly.
The people demand another sign (vv. 30–31) right after Jesus has just fed thousands. Like Pharaoh’s magicians who could imitate some of Moses’ signs, they are fixated on works rather than on the Person. Jesus is the true bread from heaven—the fulfillment of the manna—but hard-hearted sign-seeking keeps them from seeing Him for who He is.
    2. Seeing Jesus does not equate to believing in or following Jesus.
Many today (and in the military/spiritual culture around us) like the idea of Jesus, quote “Jesus is King,” or admire Him as a teacher, yet never acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior. True belief, according to John, is more than intellectual assent; it reorients one’s life. Faith without works is dead (James), and spiritual growth is like an oak tree whose roots go deeper and wider so the tree is not easily swayed by loss or trial. Scripture never calls us “adult Christians”—we remain dependent children of God. Unbelief is ultimately spiritual blindness (2 Cor. 4:4), so the battle is fought on our knees, not merely through arguments or campaigns.
    3. When we follow Jesus we experience satisfaction and security.
Jesus promises that whoever comes to Him will never hunger or thirst (vv. 35, 37–40). This is not a prosperity-gospel guarantee of earthly ease, but the fulfillment of our deepest human need. Satisfaction is not receiving “stuff” from God but receiving God Himself. Just as Israel was to depend daily on manna rather than hoard it, and just as Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden, the consistent call of Scripture is dependency on Christ. Those the Father gives to the Son will come, and Jesus will never cast them out or lose them—He will raise them up on the last day (eternal security).

    Key takeaways:

    • Demand less for signs and seek the Savior Himself.
    • Examine whether you have moved past merely seeing Jesus to genuine belief that changes how you live.
    • Rest in the satisfaction and unbreakable security found only in depending on Christ, the Bread of Life.
    • Pray for God to open the eyes of the spiritually blind around you and give you courage to speak of His glory.

  • John 6:22-29 - Here for the Wrong Reasons
    4 Oct 2026

After the feeding of the five thousand, the crowd crosses the sea looking for Jesus—but not because they saw the sign. They came because they ate their fill of the loaves. In this message from John 6:22–29, Pastor Caleb shows that the one work God requires is not more effort for perishable bread, but belief in the Son on whom the Father has set his seal.

    • Within our hearts lies our motives
    • Jesus’ position permits him to give correction and admonition
    • When we submit to God, it frees our heart to believe
