Episode #05 is for the creative who's putting in the work but wondering when their opportunity is going to come. For the designer comparing their career to everyone else's.For the person questioning whether they're good enough to keep going. And for anyone who's discovered that pursuing the career you dreamed about can be considerably more complicated than getting there.Sometimes the path doesn't make sense while you're walking it.

Creative Juices Podcast | Ep. #04 | Jarius Clark
    12 Aug 2026
In Episode 4 of the Creative Juices Podcast, Keegan Hartman sits down with his friend and brother, Jarius Clark — a Huntsville, Alabama native, videographer and producer whose creative journey has taken him across the collegiate athletics landscape, including work with UAB and Alabama Crimson Tide Women’s Basketball.

But Jarius Clark’s story extends far beyond the camera. At just 23 years old, Jarius experienced a tragedy that would forever alter the trajectory of his life. An accidental discharge of a firearm took the life of his best friend, Jaylon Johnson. Jarius was arrested for manslaughter and ultimately found guilty in connection with the incident. What followed was a journey through grief, accountability, forgiveness and faith.

While awaiting the outcome of his case, Jarius describes entering one of the deepest periods of soul-searching of his life. Leaning heavily on his relationship with God, he began confronting what had happened, rebuilding his life and, perhaps most difficult of all, learning to forgive himself. Jarius was sentenced to 10 years in prison but received a reduced sentence of five years of probation, which included speaking with young men and women about gun safety and the importance of making decisions that protect the futures of themselves and their families. Today, Jarius is a father, a man of faith and a creative professional working alongside Division I collegiate athletic programs, conferences and athletes to tell their stories through film.

    In his own words:

“Today, I am a father of a healthy and happy six year old. I work with Division 1 Collegiate Athletic Conferences, Teams and Players, helping them tell their stories through film. I hope to be an inspiration and example to my children and young individuals on what not to do as well as what your potential can unfold into. I am a man of faith, relying heavily on God and his guidance.”

This conversation is about much more than sports videography.

It is about tragedy. Accountability. Faith. Forgiveness. Fatherhood. Creativity. Perseverance. And purpose.

Jarius opens up about the darkest chapter of his life, the role his faith played in rebuilding him, and the determination that has allowed him to continue pursuing his passion within the sports creative industry. His story is a reminder that our worst moments do not have to define the entirety of our lives — but what we learn from them, how we take responsibility for them and what we choose to do moving forward can shape the people we become. I love this man for his humility. I love this man for his compassion, his drive and ultimately his passion for faith and creativity. I am grateful to call him my friend, and I am even more grateful that he was willing to share his story with our audience.

Ladies and gentlemen, my friend, my brother — Jarius Clark.

Creative Juices Podcast | Ep. #03 | Rhett Hayward
    6 Aug 2026
What does it take to rise from collegiate student-athlete to leading the creative vision for one of the top athletic departments in the Missouri Valley Conference? In Episode #03 of the Creative Juices Podcast, host Keegan Hartman sits down with former colleague and friend Rhett Hayward, the current Director of Graphic Design for Missouri State Athletics, to discuss his journey from the baseball diamond to becoming one of the industry's rising creative leaders.

An Ozark High School graduate, Rhett began his collegiate career at Evangel University as a baseball player while simultaneously discovering a passion for graphic design. Through internships with Ballparks of America in Branson, Missouri, and later his work with Missouri State Athletics, Rhett steadily developed a portfolio that has become instantly recognizable across college athletics.

Keegan and Rhett also reflect on their time working together at Missouri State, the transition that ultimately led Rhett to take over Keegan's former role with Bears Football, and the experiences that shaped both of their careers in collegiate athletics.

Whether you're a designer, student, sports creative, or simply interested in the stories behind some of college athletics' best visual content, this conversation offers valuable insight into building a career through consistency, creativity, and passion.
