In today's broadcast, we learn that the Book of Revelation was given to remind us that our future is in the hands of Christ.  Christ is the First and the Last, the One Who died and is alive forevermore and He is the One Who has the keys to Death and Hades. Furthermore, this Christ is a Savior of love, mercy, and grace for those who are His. Firmly grasping these truths should drive away all fear and anxiety, and this was one of John’s goals in writing this book.

Because of Christ, we are able to join the Apostle Paul when he says in 1 Corinthians 15:54-55 “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? Pastor Doug Short continues his series of messages on the Book of Revelation.  In Romans 12, Paul contemplates what the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit has accomplished for God’s people. We learn from Paul that truth should lead to praise. In today's message from Revelation 1:4-8, we find John calling us to a similar response to the fact that the Book of Revelation was given to the church with tidings of grace and peace from this Triune God. Although Revelation contains some difficult truths, overall, this is a letter of love to God’s church, and our response should be one of worship.
