  • Storytime with Lady: Players & Pearls at Club Surrender - Episode 4 "Pimping Noir"
    Mar 3 2026

Welcome back to Coffy Town Radio Theater. This is Episode Four of Players & Pearls at Club Surrender on Storytime with Lady.

And yes, sugar — I’m Lady. Seamstress to the sparkling jewels of Coffy Town, Concierge of Lady’s Room, and owner of Lady’s Presents. My Self‑Love Body Butter is moving fast in this weather, so if you’ve got any ash or itches to soothe, you just let me know.

Storytime with Lady: Players & Pearls at Club Surrender is part of the Holter Intellectual Property Curriculum. Script and songbook by Jessica Holter, available in print through CoffyBooks.com.

Last episode, Detective Jimmy walked in with guilt on his breath and questions in his pocket, only to find Lucy Sapphire holding her whole world together with a ledger and a prayer that he could find her missing headliner, Ruby LaRoux. Scarlet Falls tested his patience, Unpimpable Missy served him a clean rejection, and Funky John pointed him straight toward the scene of the crime — where only a few pearls lay frozen on the ground in Consequence Street Alley.

Tonight, Club Surrender burns hotter than a serpentine fire when Sarah‑Sarah steps into the spotlight with a little divine intervention aimed right at Lotta Moxi’s designs on Pete Prayer.

Walk with Lady as the story deepens, the strings tighten, and the puppet master finally shows their hand in Players & Pearls at Club Surrender — Episode Four.

[Pause] Storytime with Lady: Players & Pearls at Club Surrender is part of the Holter Intellectual Property Curriculum. The script and songbook by Jessica Holter are available in print through CoffyBooks dot com. [Break] Okay, so… On the last episode, curiosity and suspicion drifted like guilty dust motes through the tense atmosphere of Club Surrender as the question dangled on the stage under an empty spotlight... [asks suspiciously] WHERE is Ruby? Club Surrender's headliner Ruby Laroo disappeared inexplicably after her first song, forcing club owner Lucy Sapphire to come out of retirement and perform, and causing me to call Detective Jimmy to investigate. [Break] In this episode, Detective Jimmy arrives to find out that our Coffy Town Players and Pearls are as resistant as they are resilient. Far be it for something like a missing person’s case to stand in the way of Funky John’s plan to get back in position as the show director. [break] With the Club’s survival hanging on a thread, this was his best chance to undo the damage he’d done when he was Lucy’s leading man. Welcome to Players and Pearls at Club Surrender ... Storytime with Lady: Players & Pearls at Club Surrender — Part 2, Act I: The Show

    (Written by Jessica Holter)

Welcome back to Coffy Town, where the lights burn low, the secrets run deep, and every performer carries a story behind their smile. In Part 2 of Players & Pearls at Club Surrender, the curtain finally rises on the full show — a night of music, mystery, and unexpected turns.

This episode opens with our Radio Announcer setting the tone for a Black Noir evening inside Lucy’s legendary nightclub. From there, we step into the spotlight with Ruby LaRoux, Lotta Moxi, and the Coffy Shop Band as they deliver the kind of performances that make Club Surrender feel alive again.

But just as the night hits its stride, something goes wrong.

    Ruby disappears.

The band vamps. The crowd murmurs. Skawla tries to hold the room together. And backstage, Lucy learns the truth.

Lady confirms what she already knows in her bones — Ruby is gone. And with that, the promise Ruby once made becomes the only path forward: “If anything ever happens to me… call Detective Jimmy.”

This installment closes with Jimmy getting the call that will pull him back into the world he thought he left behind — and straight into the heart of Club Surrender’s unfolding mystery.

  • Storytime with Lady: Players & Pearls at Club Surrender — Part 1: Lady’s World (Chapters 1–5)
    Feb 19 2026

Welcome to Coffy Town Radio Theater, where Black Noir storytelling, immersive performance, and community ritual meet on the mic.

Storytime with Lady is our intimate narrative series, featuring Lady — bathroom attendant, healer, hustler, and truth‑teller of Coffy Town — reading from the Players & Pearls at Club Surrender Script & Songbook.

Part 1: Lady’s World brings you the first five chapters of the saga, performed in Lady’s unmistakable voice: warm, wise, weary, and wickedly observant. This is where the legend begins.

Across these chapters, you’ll travel with Lady from a trap‑house theater in Hotlanta to the shuttered doors of Club Surrender, where love, lies, loyalty, and live performance collide. You’ll meet the women who hold the city together — Lucy, Ruby, Bettie, Scarlet Falls, Unpimpable Missy, Sarah‑Sarah — and the men who complicate everything: Funky John, Detective Jimmy, Pete Prayer, and the VIP Players who keep the lights low and the secrets loud.

    Included in Part 1:

    • Chapter 1: Lady on Location — A surreal night of immersive theater that changes everything.

    • Chapter 2: The Sister Circle — A confrontation becomes a healing ritual only women can conjure.

    • Chapter 3: Lucy Running on Empty — A daughter, a legacy, and a club on the brink.

    • Chapter 4: Planting Seeds — Confessions, warnings, and the quiet beginnings of trouble.

    • Chapter 5: Show Night — The Players take the stage, the Pearls shine, and Coffy Town holds its breath.

This is Black Noir Radio Theater at its most intimate — a blend of storytelling, character work, and emotional truth, delivered with the smoky elegance only Lady can provide.

If you love mystery, sisterhood, immersive fiction, and the kind of storytelling that feels like a whispered confession in a bathroom mirror… Step into Storytime with Lady.

The doors to Club Surrender are open. Come on in.
