Welcome to Canadian Creepies - the podcast that digs into the dark corners of Canada’s past and present. Your hosts Valerie, Ali, Amanda Joy ( host of Down the Crooked Path), and sometimes Kyle explore the true crime cases that haunt us, the paranormal encounters that make us question what’s real, and the unsettling folklore that lingers just out of sight.

From cults to cold cases, ghosts to government cover-ups, we don’t just tell the stories, we ask why they still matter.

It’s creepy. It’s Canadian. And it’s probably going to keep you up at night.

  • 077 Canadians on the Epstein List
    29 Oct 2026
Send us a text, tell us your canadian creepy!Millions of pages. Hundreds of familiar names. And a complicated web of connections stretching far beyond the United States. The release of documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein has reignited conversations about wealth, influence, exploitation, and accountability. But amid the headlines, viral claims, and speculation, an important question remains: what do these records actually tell us?In this episode of Canadian Creepies, Ali returns as Valerie's co-host as they examine the Canadian connections found in the Epstein files, separating documented relationships and business dealings from unverified allegations and misleading online claims. With research by Christine Young, we explore the different circumstances in which Canadian names appear in the records, from disgraced fashion mogul Peter Nygard and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté to cryptocurrency entrepreneur Austin Hill and former media baron Conrad Black. We also examine references to Mark Carney and Justin Trudeau, the misinformation surrounding their names, and why appearing in a document is not evidence of criminal wrongdoing. And then there's Epstein's connection to Canada itself. How was a convicted sex offender able to visit Vancouver in 2014, despite a criminal record that should have made him inadmissible? The U.S. Department of Justice and FBI have stated that their review did not uncover an incriminating client list. With millions of pages released, context matters more than ever. This episode isn't about turning every name into an accusation. It's about understanding the evidence, questioning the systems that allowed Epstein to operate, and keeping the focus on the people harmed by his crimes.Because accountability begins with the truth.Hosted by: Valerie Catharine & Ali OverholtResearch by: Christine YoungContent Warning: Discussion of sexual assault, sex trafficking, exploitation, and abuse involving minors.Sources & ReferencesCBC NewsLa PresseMontreal GazetteRadio-CanadaNational PostThe Globe and MailHeadline SocietyFactuallyDougald Lamont (Substack)These publications and independent sources informed our research. • A Creators Collective Horror Anthology: Dead Air - Part 02
    28 Oct 2026

Send us a text, tell us your canadian creepy!

The broadcast isn't over yet, Creeps. And whatever's lurking inside that abandoned radio station isn't finished with our hosts either.

Welcome back for Part 02 of our two-part Halloween horror special, brought to you by The Creators Collective!

What started as five friends breaking into an abandoned radio station for a night of spooky storytelling has turned into something far more sinister. The terrifying tales, urban legends, and real-life horrors they've been sharing have begun taking shape around them, and the line between fiction and reality is getting dangerously thin.

Something is inside that station, and it doesn't seem particularly interested in letting anyone leave.

There's still only one rule: DON'T STOP THE BROADCAST.

As more chilling stories from our fellow Creators Collective podcasters take over the airwaves, our hosts must figure out what's behind the madness before they become the next terrifying tale.

Will they make it out alive? Will they uncover what's haunting the station? Or will this be their final broadcast?

There's only one way to find out.

Turn up the volume, keep the lights on, and join us for the chilling conclusion to our Halloween special.

And whatever you do, Creeps... don't touch that dial. 👻

  • DTCP 067 - The Phantom Bell Ringers
    27 Oct 2026

Send us a text, tell us your canadian creepy!

On the morning of October 7, 1853, something strange disturbed the quiet streets of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

The bell of the Kirk of St. James began ringing, despite there being no service scheduled and seemingly no one there to ring it.

According to local legend, a sea captain and the church keeper spotted four mysterious women near the church, including one looking down from the belfry. But when they went to investigate, the women had vanished.

The only thing left was the bell, still vibrating.

Later that same day, the mail steamer Fairy Queen departed Charlottetown bound for Pictou, Nova Scotia. That night, the ship was wrecked in stormy waters, claiming seven lives, including four women, three of whom belonged to the Kirk's congregation.

Was the mysterious ringing a supernatural warning of the tragedy to come?

In Maritime folklore, these eerie warnings are sometimes known as forerunners, unexplained signs believed to predict an approaching death.

The story became such an enduring part of Canadian ghost lore that Canada Post featured the Phantom Bell Ringers in its 2016 Haunted Canada stamp collection.

In this episode of Down the Crooked Path, Amanda explores the haunting legend, the historical tragedy behind it, and the possibility that some warnings arrive long before we understand what they mean.

This episode also marks our last Canadian Down the Crooked Path for a little while as Amanda takes a well-deserved break!

But the journey is far from over. Starting next week, we're taking Down the Crooked Path international, exploring strange stories, haunted histories, and unexplained mysteries from beyond Canada's borders.

Because the world is full of creepy stories, and we've got plenty of crooked paths left to explore.
