Brother Jim Shaw Ministries Ep199 Stay Ready and Out of Fear Put On the Whole Armor of God: Brother Jim Shaw on Spiritual Warfare and the Narrow Gate Brother Jim Shaw preaches a short broadcast urging listeners to return to their first love and to put on the whole armor of God against spiritual warfare. He draws on Ephesians 6, the Captain of our salvation, Lot's wife, and the narrow gate, closing with warnings about judgment and the last days. Returning to Our First Love Brother Jim Shaw opens the broadcast by urging listeners to get back to basics, reminding them of the instruction in scripture not to forget their first love. He describes a world changing every minute and listing the pressures he says believers are facing, among them COVID, masks, vaccines, riots, 5G, chemtrails, frequencies, volcanoes, earthquakes, Wormwood, and Nibiru. He says Christians are becoming more foreign in the land and calls the remnant of believers to never give in or give up. Shaw names Jesus as the first love and includes in that love a love of the Word, of wisdom, and of knowledge. He admits that comfort, such as electricity, gasoline, Walmart, and automobiles, has become a kind of small god for many people, including himself. He warns that hopelessness toward this world is not a bad thing, since believers should never have been at home here to begin with. The Example of Jesus Standing Alone Shaw points to Jesus as the Captain of our salvation and the example believers are to follow. He recounts how his closest friends fell asleep on him, how Judas, the one entrusted with the money, betrayed him for thirty pieces of silver, and how Peter denied him three times. Shaw asks where the many people Jesus healed, including lepers, the deaf and the mute, and those he raised from the dead, were when he hung on the cross. He cites a passage he places in the last book of John, saying the miracles would fill more books than the world could hold, yet asks where the witnesses were, and suggests it was probably one Roman soldier who drove the nails. The host describes Jesus as a stranger and a pilgrim in the land he created. From this he tells listeners never to let a spirit of depression take hold of them in these times. Put On the Whole Armor of God Shaw calls on believers to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, which he defines as God's Word and trusting what God has said. He urges listeners not to be a spaghetti spine, not to be fearful, make excuses, or procrastinate. He reads from Ephesians 6, telling the listeners to put on the whole armor of God so they can stand against the wiles of the devil. He says the verse has been heard a hundred times but needs hearing again, because it is a new day. Shaw asks listeners whether they truly believe demons are real, whether they are in daily warfare, and whether the enemy has tricks, wiles, and cunning. If not, he says, they need a spiritual attitude adjustment, since human beings are not at the top of the food chain. He compares the believer to a zebra that is always watching for the lion, the leopard, or the cheetah. Demons, Materialism, and Watchful Living Shaw describes spiritual warfare as a daily reality, saying Satan will try to draw each believer into a conversation or situation where faith is tested. He calls the narrow gate the path to heaven and says the Christian life is a fight to the death, in which believers must die to their emotions, concepts, greeds, and lusts. He believes many enemies are geographic, saying he can feel demons in certain towns, whether of hopelessness, rejection, abortion, or a beautiful place that is spiritually dead. He admits he has struggled with materialism himself, recalling as a teenager longing for particular cars and games until they consumed his thoughts. He says the line between enjoying something nice and making it an idol is one that each person knows in their own life. Shaw says demons want to work through human eyes, ears, hands, and feet, and that they attack at any age. Guarding the Eyes, the Mouth, and the Conscience Shaw turns to Job, who prayed that he would not sin with his eyes, and asks listeners where their own eyes are looking. He says the Holy Spirit living within a believer will prick the conscience when eyes wander or when words come out of the mouth that should not. He warns that everyone will be judged for every idle word, and that saying sorry does not erase the words spoken. He reminds listeners that God hears every word and that his mercy is great, as seen at the cross. Shaw urges believers to watch what they see, hear, and say in these times, because the world is growing more hopeless and he warns that the internet could be gone at any moment. He insists that a believer should be fed with the Word of God in their hearts. He calls this a last-day message and says it is time to get ready for the coming of the Lord. Sodomy as a Sign and the Question of Truth Shaw turns to what he calls sodomy, describing ...
