Chatty Patty (@blackramen_podcast) joins us on the Black Superheroes Matter Podcast. As one of the hosts and architects of the Black Ramen Podcast, Patty redesigns the “nerdy” archetype by challenging assumptions and stereotypes. The Black Ramen Podcast is a safe space for Black listeners in the anime community that gives them the opportunity to be unapologetic about their manga, comic book, and anime interests. The podcast also welcomes Black comic book creatives to send any projects you have over to them for reviews and feedback. One of her focuses is to promote artists that have great content that other Black and poc’s may enjoy.

Joel Maxime Jr. (@hood_comix) Joel joins us on the Black Superheroes Matter Podcast. Coming from Chicago, Illinois Joel is a multitalented illustrator, art director, curator, sculptor, martial artist, producer and an overall versatile individual. Crediting Hyde Park for its rich culture and beauty, his projects range from environmental consciousness, to economic disparities, gender equality, and more. Right now, Joel is focused on comic book illustrations and writing stories for his series Hoody, a hip-hop graphic novel.
