Free 7 Day Financial Prayer Challenge: https://chontahaynes.com/free-financial-prayer

What if your financial struggle isn't really a money problem?

What if it is a money mindset you learned before you ever earned money?

In this episode, Dr. Chonta Haynes exposes the family money scripts that can quietly shape how we spend, save, give, receive, and steward money. From “we can't afford it” to “we don't talk about money,” these messages can become internal rules long after we've left our childhood homes.

Dr. Chonta introduces three common money scripts:

Scarcity: “There's never enough.”
Survival: “Just pay the bill and pray.”
Shame: “We don't talk about money.”

She then takes us into the story of the widow's oil in 2 Kings 4 and challenges us to recognize what we already have instead of continually focusing on what we lack.

The transformation begins when we stop asking, “Can I afford it?” and start asking:

“How would a good steward handle this?”

This is not about pretending to have money you don't have. It is about replacing inherited money beliefs with kingdom thinking, forgiveness, stewardship, intentionality, and faith.

And before you leave this episode, Dr. Chonta gives you a decree:

“I break up with broke thinking. I am not my family's lack. I am God's steward.”
