  • Genesis 6-7: Reading Noah’s Story Through the Whole Bible
    27 Oct 2026

Things are about to get really wet. 🌊

In Genesis 6–7, we meet Noah and enter the story of Noah’s Ark and the Great Flood—one of the most familiar stories in the Bible, but one we may not know as well as we think we do.

As we slow down and study Genesis 6–7, we’re looking beyond the animals marching two-by-two to uncover the bigger story of sin, judgment, grace, faith, and obedience. Why did God send the flood? What made Noah different? What does it mean that Noah “found favor” in the eyes of the Lord? And what does Noah’s obedience teach us about what it looks like to trust God when His Word doesn’t make sense to everyone else?

Most importantly, Genesis 6–7 reminds us that the story of the flood isn’t ultimately about a boat—it’s about a holy God who judges sin and a merciful God who provides a way of salvation.

Grab your Bible, your colored pencils, and your Bible Study Bestie, because we’re mining Genesis 6–7 for the treasure hidden in this familiar story—and discovering how Noah, the flood, and the ark point us toward the bigger story of redemption woven throughout Scripture.

  • Genesis 4-5: Cain, Seth & the Genealogies You Shouldn’t Skip in Bible Study
    20 Oct 2026

In this episode of Bible Study Besties, we’re diving into Genesis 4–5 and learning how to study the story of Cain and Abel, the devastating impact of sin, and the surprising mercy of God.

Cain and Abel give us our first glimpse of what happens when sin moves from the garden into the family. Jealousy, anger, murder, broken relationships, and the consequences of sin quickly multiply. But even in the darkness of Genesis 4, we see the mercy, patience, protection, and grace of God.

Then Genesis gives us something that can make us want to skip ahead—the genealogies. But don’t skip them! These two lines of descendants—the descendants of Cain and the descendants of Seth—stand in striking contrast to one another. One line is marked by human achievement, pride, violence, and self-sufficiency. The other points us toward a people who call on the name of the Lord.

As we study Genesis 4 and 5, we’ll learn how to slow down, notice repeated words and themes, trace the biblical story, and see how these chapters connect to the bigger story of Scripture. Because biblical genealogy isn’t just a list of names—it helps us see God’s faithfulness as He preserves the promised line.

Grab your Bible, journal, and colored pencils, Besties. We’re learning to study the Bible for ourselves, mine the treasures of Genesis, and discover what these ancient stories reveal about sin, grace, God’s mercy, and His unfolding plan of redemption.

  • Genesis 3: Understanding Genesis as Meditative Literature
    13 Oct 2026

Grab your Bible and your Bible Study Bestie because we’re heading into Genesis 3—the chapter where everything goes sideways.

In this episode, we’re slowing down to study the Fall of Man, Adam and Eve, the serpent, temptation, sin, shame, and the consequences of disobedience. But we’re not just checking off what happened in the garden. We’re learning how to study Genesis for ourselves and notice the patterns, questions, and theological meditations hiding in the text.

Today we will look at how we see God’s mercy and promise of redemption even in the middle of the wreckage of sin.

Genesis 3 is more than the story of how sin entered the world. It introduces themes that echo throughout the entire story of the Bible—temptation, sin, shame, death, broken relationships, judgment, redemption, and the hope of a coming Savior.

So grab your Bible, your colored pencils, and your curiosity. We’re going mining in Genesis 3 to uncover the treasures that help us understand not only this chapter, but the whole biblical story.
