  • Sacred Trees - Why Every Culture Worshipped a Tree | Universal Symbolism
    Jul 17 2026

The Bodhi Tree. Yggdrasil. The Tree of Life. Every culture plants a sacred tree at the centre of its mythology. Why? Trees connect earth to sky. They live for centuries. They shelter us. This episode explores why humans everywhere see trees as sacred.

    BETWEEN WORLDS — SEASON 1

"Relics & Rituals" — Ten Objects the World Made Sacred

Where does the rational end and the irrational begin? Between Worlds explores the liminal territories where psychology meets spirituality, where culture shapes perception, where the line between what we can explain and what we cannot blurs.

This season: ten objects that every culture on earth has created as sacred. Ten things — dolls, trees, mirrors, doorways, relics, masks, candles, bells, keys — that carry meaning beyond their physical form. What these objects reveal about how human minds work. Why do we project our soul onto things? How the psychological and spiritual are often saying the same thing in different languages.

  • Why Dolls Become Haunted Across Cultures - Between Worlds
    Jul 10 2026

Why Dolls Become Haunted Across Cultures

A doll in Key West receives letters of apology from strangers. But Robert's story isn't unique. Nearly every civilisation — Egypt, Japan, Africa, the Americas, Europe — has independently concluded that human-shaped objects carry unusual power.

Why dolls? Why is it always the human likeness that becomes a vessel?

This episode explores two psychological phenomena: the Uncanny Valley (why dolls feel profoundly wrong) and Psychological Essentialism (why we

believe objects absorb soul from those who touch them).

Combine these two, and you understand why dolls have become haunted in

identical ways across cultures that never contacted each other.

We didn't invent the haunted doll. We built it into the object itself.
