  • Bend Into Balance: Ben Dullum, Physical Therapist and Ultramarathon Runner
    23 Sep 2026

Ben Dullum is a physical therapist and local outdoor enthusiast. Originally from Minnesota, he has been living in Bend for over 10 years where he works at the local hospital in the ICU and also at a breathing focused outpatient clinic, Academy West Breathing Performance. When not working, you will find Ben skate skiing when weather allows or trail running. He has run the marathon distance over 300 times, completed 100+ mile efforts over 30 times, and won the Oregon 200 twice setting the course record both times. At the onset of 2026, he set his eyes on a new challenge: the Oregon section of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). The standing record had not been broken for over a decade. In July of 2026, averaging about 70 miles a day, Ben ran the 460-mile route, with over 65,000 feet of gain and loss, in 6 days, 1 hour and 40 minutes. Ben did not only break the record; he crushed it—by 59 hours! Applying functional breathing, he ran the entire distance while breathing only through the nose.

  • Bend Into Balance: Laura Evenglow, Trauma Therapist, Educator, and Creator of the Unconscious Mind Technique
    6 Aug 2026

Laura Evenglow, LCSW, is a trauma therapist, educator, and creator of the Unconscious Mind Technique. Her work is built on a simple belief: our symptoms are not random. They are messages pointing toward something unresolved.

After years of working with trauma survivors, Laura developed the Unconscious Mind Technique to help people move beyond coping strategies and access the unconscious patterns that quietly shape emotions, relationships, and behavior. By helping people identify and resolve the experiences beneath their symptoms, her approach creates change from the inside out.

Laura now teaches this approach to both clients and therapists, with the goal of helping more people understand that the answers they are searching for are often already within them. They simply need a way to access them.
