  • Episode Nineteen: When You Can't See Proof Yet
    12 Sep 2026

What do you do when you believe in something, but you can't see the proof yet?

In Episode 19 of Becoming the Sanctuary, we step into the uncomfortable space between vision and evidence, the place where you've made the decision, taken the risk, done the work, and kept showing up, but the results haven't necessarily caught up with you yet.

This is a deeply personal conversation because it's where I am right now.

I'm building Thrivewell Hub while navigating the reality of slow summer sales, financial pressure, and the uncertainty that comes with building something you believe in. At the same time, I've been navigating the job market, the applications, interviews, waiting, hope, rejection, and starting over. There have been moments where I've questioned whether I'm making the right decisions, whether I should keep going, and whether the vision I have is actually going to become the reality I'm working toward.

And I think that's one of the hardest parts of building a life you believe in: you don't always get immediate evidence that you're on the right path.

We want the sign. We want the email. We want the opportunity. We want the sales. We want someone to tell us that we're doing the right thing. But sometimes there is simply another day in front of us and another decision to make.

This episode isn't about blindly believing that everything will work out. Sometimes the evidence really is telling us that we need to change direction. Sometimes we need to pivot, adjust, or let something go. But sometimes something simply needs more time than we're comfortable giving it.

So how do we know the difference?

How do we keep believing without ignoring reality? How do we stay hopeful without pretending everything is fine? How do we experience disappointment without turning it into a judgment about our worth? And how do we trust ourselves when we don't know what happens next?

We also talk about the job search and the strange emotional cycle of applying, interviewing, becoming hopeful, waiting, receiving a rejection, and then having to begin again. A rejection can feel incredibly personal when you're already carrying uncertainty, but sometimes "this didn't work out" is simply what happened. It doesn't automatically mean "I'm not good enough."

The same is true when building something of your own. A slow month is information. It isn't necessarily a verdict.

One of the deeper questions in this episode is what happens when we stop measuring ourselves entirely by the outcome.

Who are you if the job doesn't come?

Who are you if the business takes longer than you hoped?

Who are you while you're waiting?

Because perhaps the thing we're actually learning to trust isn't the outcome. Maybe we're learning to trust ourselves with whatever the outcome is.

We can be realistic and still believe in what's possible. We can acknowledge what's difficult without deciding the entire dream is wrong. We can change the strategy without abandoning the vision. We can be disappointed and still continue.

And sometimes the proof we're looking for isn't outside of us at all.

Sometimes it's the fact that we kept showing up.

    It's the thing we created.

It's the courage it took to begin.

    It's the lessons we learned.

It's the person we've become while navigating everything we couldn't control.

As Season One comes to a close, this episode is about the quiet middle, the part of the story where there isn't a neat ending yet.

You don't have to know how everything will turn out to take the next honest step.

And maybe the sanctuary isn't found when we finally get the proof we've been waiting for.

Maybe it's found in the person we become while we're learning how to wait.

  • Episode Eighteen: Spaces That Help People Remember Themselves
    9 Sep 2026

What if the spaces around us could do more than simply hold us?

In Episode 18 of Becoming the Sanctuary, we explore the relationship between space, environment, wellbeing, and the experience of coming home to ourselves.

A space is never just a space. The rooms we live in, work in, gather in, and create can communicate something to us before anyone says a word. Lighting, sound, scent, color, texture, objects, and even the way a space invites us to move through it can influence how we experience ourselves within it.

Some environments ask us to hurry. Some ask us to produce. Some ask us to perform. Some ask us to consume.

And then there are spaces that seem to tell us something completely different:

    You can slow down here.
    You can breathe here.
You don't have to perform here.
    You can be yourself here.

This episode is deeply connected to the heart of Thrivewell and the intention behind creating spaces where people can pause long enough to hear themselves again. Not spaces that promise to transform us into someone new, but spaces that give us room to reconnect with something that may have been buried underneath the noise of everyday life.

We talk about the way our bodies respond to environments, sometimes before our minds can explain why a particular room, home, community, or gathering place feels welcoming, or why another makes us want to leave.

We also explore what it means to create spaces that don't ask us to perform.

So much of modern life comes with expectations. Work asks us to produce. Social media asks us to present. Stores ask us to buy. Even wellness spaces can sometimes make us feel like we need to become a better version of ourselves.

But what if there were more spaces where you didn't have to accomplish anything to belong?

Spaces where you could simply arrive as you are.

We talk about beauty, too, and why I don't believe beauty is superficial. A beautiful environment can invite curiosity, pause, connection, and presence. But beauty isn't the destination. A beautiful space can't do the inner work for us. It can simply create conditions that make it a little easier to turn inward.

And creating a sanctuary doesn't require a huge budget or a perfectly designed home. Sometimes it's a chair beside a window, a meaningful object, a plant, a favorite blanket, a shelf of books, music, scent, or simply a few minutes in your car before walking into the next part of your day.

A sanctuary doesn't have to be a building.

It can be something you intentionally create.

We also take the idea of space beyond the physical. Relationships, friendships, communities, and even our own presence can become spaces for other people. Some people make us feel like we have to perform. Others make us feel like we can finally exhale.

    Which raises an important question:

What does it feel like to be around you?

Do people have to prove something? Do they have to be okay? Or can they simply arrive as they are?

Because perhaps one of the most meaningful things we can offer another person isn't advice or an answer.

Maybe it's a space where they can remember themselves.

This episode is about the spaces we inhabit, the spaces we create, and the possibility that the right environment doesn't tell us who we're supposed to become.

It helps us remember who we already are.

  • Episode Seventeen: Performing Wellness vs. Living It
    9 Sep 2026

What if wellness has become something we perform instead of something we actually live?

In Episode 17 of Becoming the Sanctuary, we explore the difference between looking well and actually feeling well, and the ways wellness culture, social media, aesthetics, routines, and even our own expectations can turn wellbeing into another performance.

There is nothing wrong with beautiful spaces, meaningful products, routines, movement, meditation, or creating an environment that supports you. These things can be wonderful invitations into a different way of living. But they cannot do the living for us.

So what happens when we become more focused on curating wellness than cultivating it?

Social media can make wellness look effortless. We see the beautiful morning routine, the organized home, the healthy meal, the yoga practice, the journal, the peaceful space. What we don't see is everything outside the frame, the difficult conversation, the exhaustion, the anxiety, and the ordinary, imperfect moments that make up an actual human life.

That doesn't necessarily make what we see dishonest. It simply makes it incomplete.

This episode asks a question that can be surprisingly uncomfortable: Am I actually living this, or have I just become really good at looking like I am?

Because living well is often far less glamorous than performing wellness. Sometimes it looks like going to bed instead of staying up scrolling. Eating lunch because you've realized you've been running on coffee all day. Asking for help. Keeping a boundary when nobody applauds you. Having an uncomfortable conversation. Resting when there is still a list of things you could be doing. Putting your phone away. Letting yourself have a difficult day without deciding you've somehow failed at healing.

Wellness isn't the absence of difficult emotions. It isn't a perfectly regulated nervous system or a life where nothing hurts. It is learning how to meet yourself when life does.

We also explore the difference between curating wellness and cultivating it. A journal can invite reflection, but it can't reflect for you. A yoga mat can support movement, but it can't create embodiment. A beautiful space can invite you to slow down, but you still have to choose to pause.

And perhaps one of the most important questions is what remains when nobody is watching.

Who are you when there is no audience? What practices remain when you don't need to photograph them? How do you care for yourself when there is nothing to post? What boundaries do you keep privately? What does wellness actually feel like in your real life?

At Thrivewell, the Five Pillars, Return, Ground, Cleanse, Protect, Nourish, and Align, are not meant to be another set of rules you have to perform perfectly. They are invitations to pay attention and discover what actually supports you.

Because there is no universal version of wellness. Your life, your body, your needs, and your seasons are your own.

Maybe wellness doesn't need to look impressive.

Maybe it just needs to be real.

And maybe becoming the sanctuary isn't about creating a beautiful picture of a well life. It's about learning how to live in a way that actually supports you, even when nobody is watching.
