À propos de ce contenu audio

Arved Fuchs is a famous German adventurer. He has travelled the world - especially the oceans - for more than 45 years and he does this in a very powerful way. He is the first person to reach the North Pole and the South Pole by foot within one year. He rounded Cape Horn in a folding boat and crossed Greenland with sledge dogs in 70 days. Most of his expeditions have taken place either in the Arctic or Antarctic or on board his 92-year-old fishing vessel DAGMAR AAEN. The footage of one of these expeditions just went viral on TikTok. In this podcast, Arved regularly shares his adventures on board Dagmar Aaen. www.arved-fuchs.de. www.baerbel-fening.de

    • With the Dagmar Aaen around the dreaded West Cape of Norway
      Sep 2 2024

This week, Arved Fuchs sailed round Stadtlandet, Norway's dreaded West Cape, on the Dagmar Aaen. The night before, a replica of a Viking ship from the Faroe Islands had capsized there. Of the international crew of six, only five members were rescued alive and one American woman was found dead.
In this podcast episode, Arved Fuchs talks about the mood on board the Dagmar Aaen when he and his crew learnt of this tragedy, recalls the extreme situations he himself experienced during his numerous expeditions and reports on the circumnavigation of the Western Cape with the Dagmar Aaen after the weather had calmed down.

    • Trondheim, a leaking fuel injector and a strong wind from the front
      Aug 23 2024

Arved Fuchs has reached Trondheim with the Dagmar Aaen, where he first had to deal with a leaking fuel injector - a case for which he has made provisions. Arved Fuchs explains that he has plenty of spare parts on board for the Callesen Diesel and for all other important instruments and equipment so that he can react immediately in such a situation. He was able to replace the defective injection nozzle with a new one this morning.
He also reports on the last leg of the journey, in which they had wind from the front for long stretches and had to motor against the wind, which takes time.
