      Jan 25 2026

Close your eyes and dream dream dream of a better podcast as another Sinister Six invades the real world. 2005’s The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl focuses on a young dork named Max, who escapes his boring life by dreaming up the planet Drool and its bizarre denizens. Things take a turn for the stupid when Linus, the school bully, steals Max’s dream journal and makes some villainous edits. Sharkboy and Lavagirl, Max’s imaginary main characters who were actually real for some reason, arrive on the scene and take Max away to planet Drool. There, a darkness has taken hold that threatens to destroy both worlds. Maybe. It’s not clear. At the very least, a tornado is gonna hit one block in Texas. Max, Sharkboy, and Lavagirl must retrieve a Final Fantasy crystal, run across green screens, and find the true cause of planet Drool’s nightmarish new vibe. Put on your 3D glasses and start signing those divorce papers for today’s electrifying episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake! If you don’t listen to the whole thing, then we’ll send you straight to the principal’s office and have you EXPELLED!

    • Episode 349: Holiday Special VI: Part II: The Polar Express (2004)
      Jan 18 2026

Magic Podcast on a rail, never takes a rest, gliding through the airwaves and the snow. Our 2025 Holiday Extravaganza concludes with a burst of steam and the tingling of a bell with Robert Zemeckis's Christmas "classic" 2004's The Polar Express. Daniel Ryan is your conductor on this one and Joanthan, Grant, Gabe, and Heather are just the passengers sorting through presents and glaring CGI. Hopefully on this episode we can ponder on the holidays' true meaning, as we sip on hot chocolate. Maybe we can even learn what it is to truly "Believe?"

In this Henry Selick adaptation of the Roald Dahl book, James is about to go on a madcap adventure through the sky and across the sea in a giant piece of fruit?!? Jonathan and Dan are joined by their own cavalcade of bug friends with Grant, Heather and Gabe. As we ponder what kind of giant fruit would be the best to live inside and if we are more of a Sponge or Spiker the holiday cheer grows as large as well...a giant peach. So, pour yourself a stein of peach beer and let a flock of seagulls carry you away.
