Podcast Episode Description: "Coffee Can Diamonds"
Title: Coffee Can Diamonds
Description:
Step back into Vienna, 1954 in the uneasy years following World War II. Talia, known as Miss Morgan, is on a desperate mission, meeting with an underworld contact, Rodriguez, in a cozy coffee shop. She isn't looking for a person, but for a coffee can full of stolen diamonds —the "war diamonds" collected by a former Nazi Camp Commander.
Talia, whose Jewish father was a slave at Treblinka , believes these diamonds belong to the victims and the dead. Her informant directs her to Teresia, the Camp Commander's wife, a "platinum blonde, quite severe" woman , who is staying at the opulent Hotel Imperial. Talia ingeniously infiltrates Teresia's world by posing as a film star, securing an invitation to the woman's room.
The confrontation is swift and brutal, with Talia exacting silent justice using a compact crossbow. However, the diamonds are still missing. In a surprising twist, the Maître d'Hôtel, Gustav, who witnessed the atrocities of the German occupation firsthand , becomes Talia's unexpected accomplice and reveals he has the can in "safe keeping". This episode is a tense, period thriller exploring themes of vengeance, hidden war crimes, and silent justice in a rebuilt, yet haunted, Europe.
