  • Warm or Cold: Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu movie review, Marcia Lucas tribute, Galaxy's Edge
    Jun 3 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode we pay homage to Marcia Lucas, OG Star Wars film editor and Oscar winner, who sadly passed away this week.

Steff then regales us at length of his Floridian adventures at the House of Mouse, and what piloting the Millennium Falcon felt like (although Hutch is having none of the inaccuracies).

Finally, we move on to the main event, a review of the first new Star Wars movie for six years: The Mandalorian and Grogu. It's a spoiler filled dissection- You have been warned!

Next, the boys are jetting off for a brief break on sunnier shores, watch this space for more movie goodness soon.

  • Rage Against the Machine Learning: Interstellar movie review
    May 14 2026

Because it's been five minutes since we last mentioned Christopher Nolan, today is the turn of his 2014 haunted bookshelf epic- Interstellar.

Love is the key and gravity transcends all, as we choke back hot man tears at the flagrant display of daddy issues, and leaving things behind. Is someone chopping onions in here?

Steff's off to the house of mouse for a couple of weeks, to witness the birth of new Star Wars movie: The Mandalorian and Grogu. Expect a debrief on the film sometime in June (if Hutch gets around to visiting his local cinema in time).

  • Beyond the Infinite: 2001 A Space Odyssey movie review
    May 11 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

This week the boys delve deep into Kubrick's 1968 trailblazer, 2001: A Space Odyssey.

No metaphor is left unscrutinised, no symbology left uncovered. There's even time to discuss David Attenborough's bowels.

Join us for a journey through the Stargate (not that one) and beyond the infinite.

We serve up a more modern slice of Sci-Fi next, when we cover Christopher Nolan's Interstellar.

  • Full of Grace: Project Hail Mary movie review, Mercy, Maul-Shadow Lord
    Apr 19 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

It’s a celebration of new Sci-Fi on this week’s episode, as we review Ryan Gosling’s space saviour fantasy: Project Hail Mary, in cinemas now.

Expect the usual deep insights, expect expert level critique, expect Steff to bang on about how it’s “Different to the book.” Expect all these things and you shall be only partially disappointed.

Elsewhere, there’s a brief discussion on another new sci fi movie, Chris Pratt’s “Minority Report in a chair” AI romp: Mercy, now available on Prime. We also briefly cover new Disney Plus Star Wars animated series Maul- Shadow Lord. Although Hutch hasn't watched either of these things yet.

Remember, life imitates art. If we’ve learned nothing else recently, it’s that we should always trust a George Lucas plotline to be on the money.

  • It's Not Fat, it's Power: Ozzy Osbourne Tribute, The Odyssey, Basic Instinct Reboot, Taika Watiti's Dredd, Andor Emmy Nominations, Predator Badlands, Paul Movie Review
    Jul 25 2025

We are bursting at the seams with news this week, with plenty going on to sink our teeth into. We do pause and mark the passing of the Prince of Darkness, however.

The movie under review for this episode is 2011's Paul, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. But not, as Steff makes very clear, directed by Edgar Wright. Can he make peace with Greg Mottola at the helm, long enough to give an unbiased opinion? Certainly not!

It's another mixed bag for Last Chance Cinema this week, as the boys review the latest batch of departees from Prime.

But the biggest news is Hutch's bombshell that the podcast is going on holiday for four weeks, and it may not return looking entirely the same...

  • FATALITY: Star Wars News, Mortal Kombat, Tron Ares, John Wick Movie Review
    Jul 18 2025

    Send us Fan Mail

Star Wars updates abound this week as we cover the news that Papa George is attending his first ever Comic Con, and you too can own a slice of prop history (for the right coin). There’s also news on the latest instalments in the Mortal Kombat and Tron franchises.

Then it’s onto our main event, a review of Keanu resurrection vehicle John Wick. Plenty of bang for your buck guaranteed, but is it a case of style over substance?

It’s time for Last Chance Cinema Club after that, with six movies in the offering this time, before Hutch selects next week’s movie pick.

  • Bacta Bacta Bacta Back: Kenneth Colley Tribute, Slow Horses, Welcome to Wrexham, End of Days Movie Review
    Jul 11 2025

    Send us Fan Mail

Another sad passing to mark this week, as we salute the Admiral Piett actor for the final time.

We then roundup all the TV we have and have not been watching lately. Plus there's a couple of stories about water, for... reasons.

Following that is our main event, and this week we are reviewing 1999's End of Days. Schwarzenegger vs The Devil! What's not to love? Well, a few things apparently.

The episode concludes with our Last Chance Cinema Club section, before Steff picks next week's movie from the two options Hutch presents him.

  • The Dogs Always Know: Michael Madsen Tribute, Street Fighter and Running Man Remakes, Denis Villeneuve’s Bond, Swan Song Movie Review
    Jul 4 2025

    Send us Fan Mail

The boys are back from holiday and can now regale us of their Croatian odyssey. In short, Hutch was mainly sat by the pool, but at least Steff took some culture in.

It’s also a bumper news week, as we discuss a couple of remakes of “beloved” movies and a new entry in a classic franchise. We also mark the sad passing of actor Michael Madsen.

It’s 2021’s Swan Song being reviewed this week, and after Steff figured out the right movie to watch, discussion can begin. Is it light on the sci-fi? Yes. But is it light on the thrills? Also yes. But there’s lots to enjoy as well.

We round off the week with our usual trip down Last Chance Cinema lane, before finishing with a jaunt along Picking Next Week’s Film To Review avenue.
