In 1943, actress Agnes Moorehead entered a CBS studio and delivered a performance that would become one of the most celebrated moments in radio history.
With little more than a microphone, a telephone and the power of her voice, she held listeners captive as a woman slowly discovered that the murder she had overheard being planned was her own.
Before she became known as Endora on Bewitched, Moorehead had already worked alongside Orson Welles, appeared in Citizen Kane and helped demonstrate how completely radio could capture the public’s imagination.
Discover the woman behind the voice—and the unforgettable performance that proved an audience does not need to see danger to feel it.
