À propos de ce contenu audio
PLEASE NOTE: This episode was updated to include more content at the end on the afternoon of January 8th! Content includes Cody's thoughts on responses from MD's and Dietitians in the media.
Some of the backlash is that the new guideline document is only 10 pages, whereas previous versions were over 100 pages. But be aware that they are merely trying to make this an easier read for the layperson, which they should. It's not lacking in science. They provide scientific references here and here.
This is a solo recording where Cody discusses the new principles taught in the US Dietary Guidelines and his opinions on them. He doesn't agree with it all!
Key points:
Recommendation on saturated fat remains at 10% of daily calories
Emphasis on real food. That means food that comes from a farm, not a factory.
Eat protein, even red meat.
Eat fat, even tallow and butter.
LIMIT carbohydrates, especially grains and sugars.
For more information, see realfood.gov.
