The most educated generation in history doesn't know anything, and Matt Hill from Start9 says that's not an accident, it's the point.

School was never built to make you smart, it was built to make you obedient, and he's got the receipts, from his own kids' education to the moment he realized his Ivy League professors sounded exactly like the guy who wrote Mein Kampf.

This conversation goes places most interviews won't. Why curiosity gets beaten out of kids on purpose. What it actually looks like to raise three kids with zero lessons and zero homework. And the night everything he believed got tested for real, standing on an IDF base while a bus thirty feet in front of him got bombed.

If you've ever wondered why the smartest generation in history feels the dumbest, this is the episode that explains why.

Matt Hill is the CEO and co-founder of Start9, where he coined and helped popularize the term "sovereign computing," the idea that you should own and control the server your data lives on instead of renting your digital life from Google, Amazon, and Big Tech. Before Start9 he was the CTO of Salt Lending, one of the earliest Bitcoin-backed lending platforms. He's a self-taught developer, an unschooling dad of three, and a former registered Democrat turned libertarian.
