Histoire
Tiffany Aching has spent years studying with senior witches, and now she is on her own. As the witch of the Chalk, she performs the bits of witchcraft that aren't sparkly, aren't fun, don't involve any kind of wand, and that people seldom ever hear about: She does the unglamorous work of caring for the needy. But someone - or something - is igniting fear, inculcating dark thoughts and angry murmurs against witches.

Description
Tiffany Aching put one foot wrong, made one little mistake...and now the spirit of winter is in love with her. He gives her roses and icebergs, says it with avalanches and showers her with snowflakes - which is tough when you're 13, but also just a little bit...cool.
And just because the Wintersmith wants to marry you is no excuse for neglecting your chores. So Tiffany must look after Miss Treason, who's 113 and has far too many eyes, learn the secret of Boffo, catch Horace the cheese, stop the gods from seeing her in the bath - 'Crivens!' - Oh, yes and be helped by the Nac Mac Feegles - whether she wants it or not.
But if Tiffany doesn't work it all out, there will never be another springtime.

Always fun
A bit YA plot wise but who could dislike Terry’s imaginative and very charming style and characters. Nutrition for the spirit.

The twist of the Seasons
Pratchett returns to the idea of belief and seasons. This should not off put anyone with strong views about what do believe in; rather this is about the effects of belief and how societies work with belief through charity; exchange and tradition.
It's also light and funny. Morals without preaching but a dose of guilt. If you enjoy the others go right and head and dive in.

Enchanting!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Been a Pratchett fan for several years but shied away from Tiffany Aching tales thinking they would be too immature, was very wrong! Just as imaginative and vivid as other discworld novels, with the same underlying social commentary. Loved it.
Which scene was your favorite?
Anything with the feegles!

The only joy to be found in winter
Would you listen to Wintersmith again? Why?
I repeatedly listen and re-read Terry Pratchett's material as there is always something new to find.
Who was your favorite character and why?
While the feegles are always a delight, and Tiffany a quintessential element my favourite character in the Wintersmith is Ms. Treason. As a witch who understands that perception is everything, she brings
What does Stephen Briggs bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Stephen Briggs brings a voice tuned to Terry Pratchett's writings that is not present in other readers.
