    Description

When half-wolf shifter Frankie Newman receives an e-mail from a family member she didn’t know existed, a secret is revealed: as a child, Frankie witnessed her father killing her mother...and then himself. Frankie was torn from her pack by her mother’s human relatives, and the trauma was erased from her memory. Realizing that she’s been lied to her entire life, she’s never felt more alone. Until she catches the scent of an old friend - warmly familiar and intoxicating.

Trick Hardy, enforcer of the Phoenix Pack, can sense the rush of mutual attraction when he sees Frankie again. He knows immediately that she’s his true mate. But he also knows that, given her fragile state, he needs to tread with care - no matter how fierce his surging desires.

As aroused as Frankie is by Trick’s darkly dominant air and simmering desire, her priority right now is her past - not her future, no matter how tempting. But as more secrets emerge and Frankie’s life is threatened, Trick must do everything he can to keep her close and safe. After all, it’s their destiny.

One of the weaker books, in this series!

Well, I eagerly awaited the release of this book, as I do all of SW’s books. I’m sorry to say that this was my least favorite book in the Phoenix and Mercury Packs series. The plot was Blaise and pretty weak. There are great sex scenes and there are great interactions with many of the fun characters. ( you even get to experience Greta drunk rambling). In addition, the narration is as awesome as Jill Redfield always is. The letdown is the plot; It’s pretty unbelievable and boring. For example, the Heroine is an independent adult whose parents died under suspicious circumstances but, rather than doing any inquiring about their deaths, she just excepts what her grandparents tell her. They even lie to her about her father’s identity. ( wouldn’t the real father’s name be on her birth certificate?) There are other weaknesses but, I don’t want to completely spoil the book. I hope SW gets back on track with the next book in the series, because this has been one of my favorites.

    🌟🌟 5 Stars 🌟🌟

Another fun book in this series. While I didn't find this book as funny or sexy as some of the others, I just enjoyed this one a lot. This book has a lot of action/suspense and a great story line. I liked Frankie & Trick together and I loved that their relationship really had no drama. I won't lie though I would have liked it even more if it had been MMF.

The narration is great but I will admit, I'd like to see someone else do some of these audio because they all seem too alike when the narrator give every girl & every guy the same voice.

    Disappointed in Suzanne Wright

First of all, I loved the other books. This book, however, was a little distasteful to me. The more I listened the more ridiculous the story line became. I am not sure how this received a good review. I do not buy anyone having same sex tendencies and then when they find their "mate" everything works out and everyone accepts it. When a guy cheats on his girlfriend or vice versa, that is not something that is easily accepted but this story wants you to believe that everyone is okay and it is completely normal. Nope. Just not for me. Too unbelievable!

Enjoyed it but same old story

I give it 3 stars only because I love this world. With that being said EVERYTHING is predictable in this story. Sadly to say this will be my last book from the author..

    I like these books but...

Tarin normally heals at least one person a book and normally has her own unique description for how it looks visually and how she does it. It is cool. Why then was it changed to the description John Coffie from Green Mile healing someone. Not cool. overall the book felt like the author was taking shortcuts to push another romance title out. Not your best work.....

The jury is still out on this one

While I did enjoy listening to the story, I was not impressed with the recorders voice. I thought her to be too assertive in her working of how she thought the characters should be. I also could have done without all of the cursing. It brought the story line to a lower level of intellectual appreciation.

Is it time for a change ?

I've always loved Jill Redfield's performance in all of Suzanne Wright's shifter books, except for the last one. Ok and this one.

I don't know why, but I feel like I get more of each character's personality from the book, than I've gotten from the audio version. They're all starting to sound the same, behave the same, I mean if you've listened to them all, just stop and compare Trick to Dante or Trey. But ok, that's all right, I can deal with that. Here's where this book lost me ...

Frankie. I don't know if Jill is trying to make her sound cool and aloof, but to me, she just sounds flat and bored. There is absolutely no personality there for Frankie, none. She even sounds slightly monotone which is just awful. I mean, all the other characters sound lively and come through beautifully, but why is she making the female characters sound so BLAH ? The same thing happened with Gwen in Lure of Oblivion, I almost didn't finish it !

There also seems to be a little problem with the editing because I've come across pauses in recording in the oddest locations, as in right in the middle of a dialogue. Ugh, these books are slipping !!! It's sad to see that happening when there are so very few books left in both series. I hope the next one will be better.
