Carsyn Dayne is a typically atypical punk girl from small-town Maine who fronts a pop punk band called "Syn City." She's tall, witty, and tough as nails.
Things change for Carsyn after a family tragedy. Suddenly, her nights are filled with terrifying nightmares. Explained away as the result of trauma, the nightmares grow worse.
Experiencing all the joys and Americana that all teens do, Carsyn makes friends, plays music, and falls in love. Nine years later, her waking respite is shattered at the hands of a serial killer. Now, her nightmares always feature the same demonic shadow figure.
Plagued by sleep paralysis—caused by the terrifying entity—her nightmares become more violent and inexplicably twisted. Each time she falls asleep, she must endure the horrors that the thing guides her into, making each dream a fight for survival.
Not only do these violent nightmares affect Carsyn, but when her friends and family fall victim to them in real life, she must act quickly before it's too late.
This coming-of-age tale combines humor and wit with the horrors of an unconscious mind that is troubled by emotional pain. Wide Asleep is sure to keep you up at night.
