Excellent follow-up to Call of the Wild

Would you listen to White Fang again? Why?

Yes - classic adventures like this get better with age; additionally, we forget details and enjoy re-reading good old stories.

What was one of the most memorable moments of White Fang?

When he was last rescued from the fighting ring, and puppies in California.

What does Alan Munro bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Very good enunciation of different characters, and proper levels of emotion and excitement at the right times in the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No, only about 100 of them.

Any additional comments?

White Fang

Story, of course, is excellent. Narration, however, is distracting. The reader stresses words at odd and inappropriate times, as if there might be punctuation where there is none. Unfortunate for such a good story.

One of the books everyone should read

It’s an American classic to be sure.

I love becoming a wolf and seeing life in this way.

There was a minor errer in the telling somewhere between chapters 10-15.

The author was discussing Gray Beaver and White Fang, and accidentally called White Fang Gray Fang.

Enjoy!

Great Conclusion

The spiritual successor to "Call of the Wild" is great from start to finish.

I love the contrast, and almost "reverse fate" of White Fang compared to Buck.

As always; London does a fantastic job exploring Nature vs Nurture in this epic story!

Great story about nature, man, and the struggle of living in both worlds. This is a classic I ready every year.

Could not appreciate the story

the performance of the reader was so poor I didn't finish the book. I have listened to Jack London's Call of the Wild on Audible and loved every second of it but it was with a different reader.

The volume kept changing so at times I had to go back several times only to hear the reader. it was also really hard to distinguish between the characters or to stay focus so monotonous was the reading.

A great book to add to your library.

"We are not the only species on this planet that suffers." This book will engage the reader's environmental sensibilities.

It's worth it for the price

For an audiobook under two dollars, you can't complain too much. It's totally worth it for the price. However, the performance definitely lacks emotion. If you're reading it because you want to really get lost in the story, then spring for a more expensive, emotional reading.

Legendary

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is one of the books that makes Jack London a legendary Author.

What other book might you compare White Fang to and why?

Similar to Call of the Wild in texture, but completely different. You will not feel like you just read the same book. While it gives a canine view, it is an entirely different view and feels so spot on that you can relate the ideas to humanity as well. It also tells an outer story of the relationships of dog and man, which is also telling of the human psyche.

Which scene was your favorite?

This is a fluffy choice.. but its when White Fang explores as a puppy for the first time.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I was riveted and worried.
