Torg was pressed up against the metal gate, reaching around in the dark for a way to climb over the barbed wire or open the door to the gate. He had no luck, as it was too dark to see. The two men turned on lights they had mounted to their heads. They shined the lights right in Torg’s eyes. He was blinded. They rushed him, punched him in the gut, and kicked him onto the cold, hard concrete. He collapsed and rolled up into the fetal position.

He shouted desperately, "Someone please help me!"

But no one would come help an innocent person at night. There were no heroes in the Ultra-Cities, just people who were smart and people who were dead. Luckily, Torg was smart.
