Spoiler-free summary: Bill Morris sometimes thinks that it seems like an unbelievable dream. But when he looks at Maria's picture on his desk, he realizes it couldn't have been a dream.
It was only six months ago that he sat at his desk, looking at her picture, wondering what could have happened to her.
It had then been six weeks since there had been any word from his one true love, although she had promised to write him as soon as she arrived in Russia.
He has done research about Russian vampires, and knew about the wurdulac and upyr vampires living there, so he has good reason to be worried for her.
He goes to Russia to look for her, but will he find her? And will she still want him?
