    T.M. Frazier is amazing...but

    What in the world happened to the narration? Troy was great but Lucy Rivers...wth? I have listened to several other books she narrated but this was absolutely horrible narration by her. I honestly had the hardest time listening to it. She sounded so fake and over exaggerated in her female voice. The men’s voices...it honestly sounded like someone with speech disabilities at times...I mean Duke...are you kidding? I just don’t understand. I mean, Lucy Rivers has never been a favorite, in fact, I don’t even remember her other than I know I have listened to other books. I have never been this appalled by narration of a well known authors book than I am with this...because of Lucy. The book is great, but I just can’t believe how much I hate listening to this. Listen to Duke...”seriously Sarrrrruuuuhhh”. Ugh...cringe. I have listened to 463 audiobooks and have never felt the need to write a negative review about a narrator...until now. Sorry, I know this sounds so rude. The book is great. Troy is great. I am really mad t feeling Lucy on this one.

    Very Entertaining but NOT Unabridged..

    I've been a fan of the King series since the first book so I'm not surprised that this latest installment did not disappoint. However, I read the book's Kindle format and noticed there is an obvious difference when compared to this audiobook. This supposed unabridged version is NOT narrated word for word. There are entire paragraphs and dialogue from the book which were omitted and/or changed in the audiobook version.

    female reader doing the male voices

    female doing the male voices was just hard to listen to, sounded whiney at times, slured, not believable.

    Narrator Lucy Rivers, ruined this book!

    I love the King series, but unfortunately cannot get through this book due to the horrible narration by Lucy Rivers. So disappointing.

    My Two Pennies

    Phenomenal job with narration by Lucy and Troy. We can easily feel the intensity of all the characters pouring through the speakers. Smoke and Frankie... holy hell! This story pulled me in from the beginning and just captivated me till the last words. We’re given everything you can imagine as we hear Frankie’s story with Smoke. This man is mysterious and sexy and has the biggest heart underneath all that bad boy image. I absolutely love these characters and bringing everyone back yet keeping this as a stand-alone was perfect. Anyone that hasn’t read the King series can easily enjoy this story although I highly recommend you read them all as well as All The Rage, you’ll appreciate this story that much more. I was blown away with the turns that came and had me on the edge non stop. Beautifully written and I hope there’s more in the future. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

    Awful Female Narrator

    I love King series and every book written by T.M. Frazier. (Ok I am editing here cause I feel obligated to warn people since I just finished Perversion Triology and it was God Awful piece of crap so not those either). I read and listened to all of them more than once. Gosh, I even miss the characters time to time and listen them here again for a while. This is by far THE WORST narration I have heard from audible! Lucy Rivers’s take on the characters was just terrible! I was so irritated that I stopped listening and get back to my book. Then, I had no choice but get back to this horrid thing again since I have so little time at my hands for my dear books. It was a torture to hear all that! It's completely butchered the story for me. How was this narration even accepted by the production company?! I am scared to continue with the series since the next book is also narrated by the same person. uh. The Dark Light of Day (the first one from Frazier) was also narrated by the same person and I LOVED that one! Why is this one like this?!

    Ears are bleeding

    I have loved all the books in this series, including the narrator's. This book was hard to get into, and did not flow seamlessly with the series storyline. Loved the male voice, but the female voice was like fingers on a chalk board. The narrator's voice was very slow and nasaley. Please choose the previous female voices next time, they are amazing.

    Loved the story. Didn’t love the female narrator.

    Great story, but the female narrator was painful to listen to. I gave the performance *** because Troy Duran was great.

    I love these characters!!!

    I began listening to TM Frazier a few years ago starting with King. How I got that book I'll never know. Romance may be a usual genre for me, but if I had did a close read of the book's description I don't think I would have listened to it - and that would have been my loss. I got this book (Smoke) and the Outskirts Duet. I liked the Outskirts story and characters, I'm very glad I listened to both and may listen to both again, but I LOVED Smoke.

    Couldn’t get beyond the voice

    I couldn’t get beyond the voice to even give a review on the book so I picked the middle star . Too bad, I usually try to stick it out but just couldn’t do it this time.
