Description
Lara Lington has always had an overactive imagination, but suddenly that imagination seems to be in overdrive. Normal professional twenty-something young women don’t get visited by ghosts. Or do they?
When the spirit of Lara’s great-aunt Sadie–a feisty, demanding girl with firm ideas about fashion, love, and the right way to dance–mysteriously appears, she has one last request: Lara must find a missing necklace that had been in Sadie’s possession for more than seventy-five years, and Sadie cannot rest without it. Lara, on the other hand, has a number of ongoing distractions. Her best friend and business partner has run off to Goa, her start-up company is floundering, and she’s just been dumped by the “perfect” man.
Sadie, however, could care less.
Lara and Sadie make a hilarious sparring duo, and at first it seems as though they have nothing in common. But as the mission to find Sadie’s necklace leads to intrigue and a new romance for Lara, these very different “twenties” girls learn some surprising truths from each other along the way. Written with all the irrepressible charm and humor that have made Sophie Kinsella’s books beloved by millions, Twenties Girl is also a deeply moving testament to the transcendent bonds of friendship and family.

Wonderful story... Funny, witty, delighful !
I often laughed and smiled at Sadie and Lara's dialogues... I cried at the end... Only Sophie Kinsella can tell stories with this talent

My first Kinsella
What made the experience of listening to Twenties Girl the most enjoyable?
I bought the book based on reviews. The quirky and witty way of the authors writing made the book charming and enjoyable. However, the story was not very believable, but getting the book on sale is worth it.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the persistence of the ghost - but I DID NOT FALL IN LOVE with the main character. She was not a very honest person and that bugged me. She had other good qualities, but overall leans to become annoying.
Which scene was your favorite?
There are several funny scenes, I don't want to spoil the book.
If you could rename Twenties Girl, what would you call it?
The Dragonfly necklace
Any additional comments?
Did not like the bad language, was uncalled for. Needed a bit more character development It is a "light read" nothing that makes you think or change your ways. I might give the author another try based on reviews.
Narration was ok -- male voices were just ok.

Silly, but fun
It is necessary to turn off your brain for this book, but sometimes that's ok! Very fun, silly, and a great beach listen.I'm glad the cost was dropped down to one credit- it was worth one, but not two.

Love this One of my Favorites of Sophie Kinsella's
I wasn't interested at first in the book only because it had a ghost as apart of the story which I thought would be cheesy but I absolutely love this book and the ghost. Its the kind of book you can listen to over again.

Very enjoyable and much better than expected!!!
I am a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella novels and have listed to all her audiobooks. I left this one for last because the title never really captured my attention. I have to tell you that I was VERY pleasantly surprised as I enjoyed this audiobook immensely. Like one of the other reviewers mentioned, you have to set aside the fact that Lara is in touch with the spirit of her Great Aunt Sadie. Lara really develops a believable relationship with her aunt and the story line involves mystery, romance, and above all, family values. A winner for sure! I highly recommend this novel!

Absolutely Awful
I usually love Sophie Kinsella, have read all her books on Audible to date, and understand that you have to suspend your disbelief in reality to enjoy them, and I do. Even the Shopaholic and Sister book while very silly and somewhat lacking a real plot, was at least interesting and occasionally humorous. But this was so bad, and without a scintilla of effort to try to allow the reader to connect with the characters. It was so bad that it made me nauseated half way through and just could not finish. Maybe it gets great later on, but I refused to waste one more minute of my life reading this drivel. The author and her publishers obviously consider their readers to be morons. This is the very definition of tripe. Don't make the same mistake as me.

The Roaring Twenties!!
I absolutely loved this story. Totally different, and I loved the paranormal aspect of the book. I can understand the remorse she felt for not visiting her aunt in her seniors home, however I think that was the fault of her parents, because they didn’t encourage familial closeness. It is what we have done in today’s society, get so caught up in our lil lives we forget about the elderly. It was wonderful that Lara got to know her aunt Sadie and had a glimpse of how she lived her life. This was a joy to listen to and the narrator did an excellent job.

Great Audio book for Chick Lit lovers
I enjoyed this book all the way through. I never thought about the narration throughout listening, so that must be a good thing. Love Sophie Kinsella's writing.

All the Same, but good for a laugh
This is a silly SK book - like all of them. I love the reader and have moments of laughing out loud. This isnt for you if you're not looking for silliness.

Not a Typical Sophia Kinsella
This is a silly, silly book!!
Having read every one of the Shopaholic series and a few other random Kinsellas, I was totally disappointed in this effort. I LOVED the shopaholics, I HATE Twenties Girl. I am less than half through and will probably not finish. The characters are shallow and inane. The ghost does a lot of shouting and not much else. A total disappointment for a Kinsella fan.

Expected more...
Would you try another book from Sophie Kinsella and/or Rosalyn Landor?
Yes and I have read/listened to several Sophie Kinsella and Madeleine Wickham books that I really enjoyed.
Any additional comments?
I found that this book was not nearly as clever as other Sophia Kinsella books. I don't like it when intelligent characters do stupid, out-of-character things. I found the beginning of this story to be frustrating but it definitely got better in the latter portion of the book. Rosalyn Landor's performance was good and I have enjoyed all of the narrators of Sophie Kinsella's books.

Super!
Endlich!

Oops, she did it again...
and she did well - was mich besonders gefreut hat, nach dem mich S. K. nach "Can You Keep a Secret?" mit ihren Nachfolgern "Remember Me?" und "The Undomestic Goddess" nicht so recht überzeugen konnte.

Not what I expected.
It was a good book. Part of the way I did get a bit bored, but glad I finished. It tied up all the loose ends. I did enjoy the book. The author does have some tricks up her sleeve and the narrator was good at reading out who was talking at that moment.

nette Story, toll gesprochen
