Description

Maybe it was a grandparent or a teacher or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching and gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago. Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you?

Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying of ALS, or motor neurone disease, Morrie visited Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live. This is a chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world.

Beau-ti-ful Story!!

As soon as I purchased it, I started listening, and enjoyed each and every minute of it.
In my opinion, it is extremely well written and on the top of that the narration is outstanding, too.
It is great to listen to the story narrated by the author, and he reads the book beautfully.

This is a true story which makes the book even more special, I think.
Thought provoking, inspiring and the author makes you laugh here and there as well.
I hope you enjoy the book just as much as I did, if you decide to get it.

How to live... and how to die

A brilliant story with such feeling. Mitch, you are inspirational.
Tuesdays with Morrie was given to me as a book by a now dear departed friend. Means so much more.

Pragmatic words on difficult issues

Living and dying well provide many challenges that continue to baffle us. "Tuesdays with Morrie" gives some stimulating insights through the recounting of conversations between Mitch and his old college teacher Morrie as Morrie dies of Lou Gerig's disease. The book broaches difficult topics without unbelievable hype or off-putting sentimentality. It is a great listen.

This is such a good book. Postponed reading it for years and finally decided to listen so that I get to it...and I'm so glad I finally did! The listen with Mitchs voice makes it very real, you feel immersed. A blessing of a book, would recommend it to all.

Mortality

We live as if we will never die and die as if we have never lived. A very touching and moving story. We are so engrossed with life that we fail to realize that one day we will all die. According to Wordsworth, getting and spending we lay waste our powers. This book forced me to think more about my own mortality. I was forced to think about life's meanings. The advice given by Morris makes so much sense to me. 1) Love our family 2) Help our community 3) Get involve in something greater than us, that is leave a legacy. I strongly recommend this book.

moving and thought provoking<br />

I was worried at first not knowing how I would react to a story that I knew was very sad. having now completed the book I'm glad I read it. this heartfelt account of a dying man is a must read - because it's real.
